In a generalization a lot of people seem to think V and after are all Ed's creation, which are Live's worst albums and completely his fault. Nobody mentions that Ed has solo credit on almost all of TDTH tracks, including The Dolphins Cry. Heaven was a hit. He wrote Lightning Crashes on his acoustic guitar. I'm liking SFBM more and more. I mean I'm all for the whole band writing process, but they aren't 18 living together with almost all of their time focused on music. They have progressed over the years to a different writing style, I don't get all the criticism. Someone please help me out here.

Ed also wrote both music and lyrics of Pain Lies on the Riverside, The Beauty of Gray, I Alone, All Over You, and Turn My Head. This man is very talented and very creative, and perhaps this is the reason why he tried very different routes ala V. I would like to see the rest guys contributing as what happened for songs like Lakini’s Juice, Like I Do, Selling The Drama etc but if Ed is going to take over writing from now on I would be completely satisfied.

I would like the other guys to be around to keep him in check. When he writes a poor song, just punch him in the face or rub his nose on the paper and say, "No!"

what's to argue, the record speaks for itself. ed has written a few good songs by himself, while the majority of their best songs have the band contributing. there was a definite difference amongst the writing on V as opposed to their previous albums according to CT's own words in a previous blog. the only 2 songs since TDTH that are credited with other band members are Like I Do and Lighthouse, which to me are 2 of the best songs since TDTH. i think ed's fuckin' ego is just too big to let the others contribute as much. course i just base this on the one time i met the guys. ed's ego was bigger than the rest of the band put together on that occasion.
