so i know there are many musicians on the board. what kind of gear do you play/own?

my pride & joy is my gibson les paul custom, white w/gold hardware & black trim, but i rarely play it

play my fender stratocaster (Mexico) 90% of the time (tobacco sunburst)

have a cheap olp by ernie ball (my flat black project guitar w/one humbucker)

takamine N10 acoustic w/cedar top

esp ltd b50 bass - best bang for the buck on the bass scene IMO - plays & sounds like a much more expensive bass - flat black

one completely homemade bass w/seymour duncan jazz single coil (really poor bass, but looks cool.gif canary yellow)

fender m80 head half stack

fender deluxe reverb (tube baby!)

fender g-dec

fender rumble 60 bass amp

you'd think w/all this shit i could find the time to record a cover for the contest, but truth is i rarely have time to play anymore angry.gif

Wow...I would love to see that Gibson Les Paul!

I'm a beginner. I've only been taking guitar lessons since February of 2005.

I have a black Ibanez acoustic, a Ibanez acoustic electric (hard to describe the color, it looks black but it has a deep blue color mixed into the middle like a sunburst I guess) and a Fender Stratocaster (mexico) that's a metallic sage green with a white pick guard/hardware. guitar.gif .

I'm so jealous of all you guys angry.gif I wish i could play cry.gif but i have no hand eye coordination, you know, just like how some people are tone deaf. Well hey, at least I'm a great singer. Haha.
I live vicariously thru my boyfriend though, his primary is the bass, don't know what brand it is. But he also has an electric guitar, another bass, a keyboard.
Yeah, I really hate him. He plays bass, drums, keys and guitar. I think the only reason he doesnt play wind instruments is cause his teeth are huge nervous.gif ( shhh I never said that )
He palys all that shit and I can't wahhhhh cry.gif Oh well, I sing better!!!!!! tongue.gif

Got two acoustic guitars (Yamaha and an old Gibson).

If I had it my way, I'd have a drumset in my room too.

I have:

1. 1978 Fender Stratocaster (USA)
2. 1978 Fender Telecaster (USA)
3. 2004 Epiphone Casino
4. 1992-ish Ernie Ball MusicMan Stingray Bass
5. 2006 Fender Jazz Bass (Mexico)
6. Carlo Robelli "El Cheapo" Acoustic/Electric

I also have a 2006 Fender Stratocaster 12 string and another Mexican Jazz Bass that I am in the process of selling on eBay. Do a seller search for "mfitz804" to find them. I'll give reduced shipping to anyone from the board who wins.

I have...

Gibson SG
Mesa/Boogie Nomad 100 (just got it, its nice)
A crappy Ashton Acoustic...
A crappy piano..
An expensive Titano Piano Accordion.

My main instrument is the piano, was supposed to take my teachers diploma on it a couple of years ago, but I got sick and haven't got around to doing it since. Hoping to upgrade my piano soon... and I will be purchasing a PRS in the next couple of months.

Has anyone done any studio recording? My band just recorded drums, piano and rhodes in a big NZ recording studio (York Street) for our upcoming album... recording bass, guitars and vocals soon.

I play the drums...(just saw Live last night in Manchester!)

Pearl Master (wish it was Silver Sparkle like Chad's, but it's black with a faint champaigne sparke and gold hoops)...12", 13", 16", 18" Toms, Piccolo Snare, Zildjian 20" A-Custom Ride, 16" A-Custom Crash, 16" Z-Custom Crash, 18" K Crash, 8" K Splash and 13" K Custom Dark Hats...it's my pride and joy (that and my car...and i should mention the girlfriend too!)

Live rocked last night, first time i've seen them in a long while, set got better as the night went on...they did more improv and sounded less like the CD and more like a top quality entertaining live band. Awesome show, hope it's not too long before they visit again.

Niiiiiiiice Alex.

IMO Mesa Boogies are the best amps and PRS make the most aesthetically pleasing guitars.

As a <fellow> drummer, I'm curious as to what you thought of Gracey last night?

Yeah, PRS's are beautiful- its a shame so many nu-metallers use them (death.gif) And its amazing what difference a good amp makes- the range of tones the nomad has is amazing.

Solid as always. His kit sounded great, and he progressively throught the night turned the drums up...by the end, he was going nuts. At first the whole band sounded like a live version of the CD, but as the night went on, they all (in particular CG) started improvising slightly. That's personally my favourite thing. At one stage the crowd who had been singing along with every song, were left in silence wondering what they were playing...eventually it was "I Alone"...that's what live music is all about!

Anyway, The whole band were great, Chad was tops, apart from he didn't throw me a stick! (not that it matters, I use the same brand, model, but nylon tip rather than wood).

great drummer, in my opinion...

ever give Iris and/or W,D a shot for kicks? STILL have not seen any drummer play either well, and I've witnessed many attempts...I've got them semi-worked out (obviously Iris being the most challenging), but I cannot come close to playing either accurately, let alone well
