Let's pass the time by speculating about the various reasons Live might be so silent. Here are my guesses:

-The Live business entity is entangled with the UFD fiasco, and they need to untangle that.

-CG previously called the pandemic a plandemic. Perhaps he is refusing to get the vaccine, and Ed and/or the others won't tour with him because of it. The Offspring recently booted their drummer for not getting vaccinated.

-The band is fighting again.

-Ed, CT, or PD is paranoid about Covid and won't go on tour until it's gone.

I know artists get less $ in the new ticketmaster covid policy - and theyre required to do more social media etc. Maybe the deal isn't good enough for them to play.

My speculations:
-Ed wants to completely separate himself from CCP until the Think Loud/UFD legal issues are resolved.
-Ed signed some sort of agreement upon the reunion. One of the agreements was to refrain from solo work/material. (I also speculate that he cannot make social media posts on his own accounts without some sort of band approval). The Think Loud/UFD legal issues started, and now Ed is stuck waiting, can’t do solo work while waiting, and can’t communicate on social media while waiting (and is kicking himself).
-They are fighting again. Perhaps political differences? Creative differences?
-They decided to retire but before announcing retirement, want to cash in on Secret Samadhi anniversary tour merch & perhaps a one last tour. (Really, really hope this is not the case, as this is so wrong). Hence, they are just sitting around waiting for the anniversary date to roll around with no motivation to do anything new, as they can just skirt on by with offering a package to fans similar of the TC anniversary, & ride out into the sunset with the same 12 song setlist.
-It’s all Pat’s unhappiness (he didn’t smile once the whole last tour- he just wants to fish) and they have to find a new bassist & cannot right now. (Wild, I know, but I did get weird vibes from Pat).
-They are absolutely oblivious to all current fan speculation and every thing is okay. They don’t realize their shortcomings compared to other artists in 2020-21. It’s like, the pandemic is their sabbatical. Think the meme where everything is on fire and the dog is sitting there with his coffee cup saying “This is fine.”
-Member(s) are having personal problems, such as marital (CG posted regarding that on his birthday) and have asked each other for time and space to heal.

This is a big one for me, and probably why everything is so under wraps. Even Loy hasn't posted squat in months. There's gotta be a gag order or lawyer somethings going on.

This crushes me. They've all got families and kids and need to be careful. I just left my band last week because I'm high risk thanks to Covid and didn't want to be the one holding them back if they decide to play before I'm ready. I'm still up for playing and recording music; just from the safety of my home.

The comment about The Offspring is complicated. Pete backed out because he has an ailment that is potentially affected by the vaccine and after talking to his doctors, he decided it wasn't worth the risk. Josh Freese is taking his place on the upcoming tour.

I think these are related. The band is fighting about Covid and their legal matters, and they aren't doing anything until both are resolved.

Essentially, they're screwed right now.

I really hope that CT, ZL and Ed are writing content on their own and when all the nonsense is lifted they hit the ground running, as Live or otherwise. I just can't see how such creative people that have jobs to make music and entertain people can sit around their houses for 16 hours a day and watch paint dry for the last 17 months and have ZERO to show for it. I'm sure at the beginning they needed the time off, but now? Come on.

I'm leaning towards money issues related to UFD and the potential cost of schedulingand the canceling shows, internal Covid conflicts, or the fact they are just completely unmotivated and uninterested.

I think the next news from Live will occur in October or November as the South Africa shows on their schedule approach. I see 1 of three things occurring.

1. They play the three shows
2. They cancel the shows with a generic Covid explanation
3. The shows disappear from the site with absolutely no public announcement (IMO, this would be a very bad sign).

My thoughts are in line with what Hoodstock posted, between COVID creating a forced slowdown and the distraction of UFD in the background (along with whatever day to day stuff they have on their plates) music just becomes a lower priority.

I thought they already canceled the South Africa shows, but if not then also agree that will be our next tell-tell sign of what to expect next based on how it’s handled.

I'm going to double down on this either be UFD legal-related or having to do with Gracey not getting vaccinated. Many states and venues are requiring vaccinations, so if Gracey stands firm on not getting vaccinated it could mean he gets fired from the band, they don't tour for years, or they replace him on tours. I can't imagine any of those situations would go over well for a band that's four childhood friends.

(I'm just speculating Gracey hasn't gotten vaccinated based on his past comments about Covid.)
