QUOTE
"Look, we're all itchin' to just get out and play," Dean continued. "You know we had over a hundred shows pulled out from under us this year. Everything. Not rescheduled — canceled — and there's nothing on the books for 2021, so it's just, like, 'Let's do something! Let's play!'"

Hmmm, what about the Australian tour?

Here's a story from CNN on the show:

Based on that quote it sounds like it's not happening. The dates are still on their website though. Bush still has them listed too.

It’s AWESOME. Worth the purchase. They looked & sounded fantastic, as you will see in the clip.

Hmmm, what about the Australian tour?

I was thinking about the STP quote this morning. The bands already know the Australian shows are cancelled, it's just not being made public.

I'm sure ticket sales are in the millions of dollars. It makes total sense for the promoters and bands to delay the announcement of the cancelation as long as possible because interest will compile on the money from ticket sales as long as they continue to hold it. It's basically a free interest collecting loan for all of the parties involved.

As soon as refunds are given they no longer will make interest on that money. If they cancelled the show this far in advance everybody would want their money back immediately.

I wouldn't be suprised, however, if they wait until closer to the event to make the announcement, reschedule the shows for the following year due to "covid", and say they will honor tickets at a future time.

Timing is everything. Doing a reschedule closer to the event would probably decrease fans being upset because the wait window for the next shows would be shorter and would allow them to extend the hold and continue to collect interest throughout another year. Basically, the fans are being scammed. That's exactly what Maroon 5 did to their fans

Bands holding ticket sale money from fans and delaying or refusing refunds are actually doing really well due to compounding interest.

I have Detroit Lions season tickets and they are doing the same thing. While other teams like the Chiefs, Jaguars, Jets and Giants have already offered refunds and reduced capacity plans to season ticket holders, the Lions are delaying any announcements and holding money.
