Next year is the 25th anniversary of Jagged Little Pill. I just read the linked article that Alanis is going to perform the album in its entirety, in December, before the Broadway musical run of JLP begins.

Not sure how long the Broadway run is, but man, would I love to see Līve and her tour together next year. I’ve said it here before, this is my dream concert bill, and Alanis is on my bucket list. Even though I’d love to see Līve perform as a headliner, and even though Līve would end up opening for her, this pairing would ROCK. Even better if it was coheadlining though.

Thoughts?

I saw her when she was touring with Tori Amos. I know she's toured with Garbage too (I'd kindamaybe rather see that show repeat itself, if I'm being totally honest). I'd love to see her again, though. I think thematically, her SFIJ album pairs up well with TDTH - in a "these lyrics are direct and will mess you up... utterly" sort of way, and I think it would be a real immersion experiment in revisiting the records that upended my paradigm to see them tour reissues of those albums together. If they actually played songs from the album, anyway.

I think that they would be a very good fit.

Sounds like a lot of empty seats to me.

Wouldn't everybody prefer a Live headlining tour, not co-headline? The latter just seems like they'd end up repeating all the same shit they've been playing for 3 years

This likely pleases Nicholas very much. If he's the only one in the crowd he can imagine a nude Ed singing exclusively to him while wearing wrestler's gear. He would promptly leave once the headlining Morissette takes the stage.

I saw a headlining show this Summer. They still repeated the same shit they’ve been playing for the last three years. It makes no difference at this point. I actually really enjoyed seeing Bush when I went to the coheadlining show and I never would have gone to see them if Live wasn’t with them. So, I guess the best I can hope for is for them to tour with another band that I would enjoy. I don’t like Alanis though.

Speaking of headlining shows, they just added one in NJ, February 19th. Weird.

They need to practice their Altimate setlist at least once before they head to Australia.

I’d much prefer a headlining show. I’d rather see them headline in a bar or club with 300ish people, but it’s just not going to happen. Also, as Heather said, when they do headline, it’s the same ole, same ole. If they are going to headline, they need to do it proper— at least give us a 90 minute set, and shake shit up.

Also, one on the 20th in Bensalem. PA.

If I was in NJ PA area, I’d have such a hard time deciding what to do. I buy my tickets the moment they go on presale to get first row, or as close as possible. I’d have a hard time taking that plunge for these shows (especially with holidays coming up), with no inkling as to what we are going to see/hear. I will not be buying tickets unless 2020 shows are drastically different from the last two summers. I’m not hopeful.

Yep, I can’t do it. It’s a Thursday, I’d have to take off work. It’s sad. Years ago it wouldn’t have even been a question.

Hehe, an hour and twenty minutes from me but you talked me out of it with your previous post. You do raise a valid point though - would have thought the 9:30 Club show would have been any out of the ordinary but....... shrug.gif
