The band's first proper London concert in over 10 years - from what I'm told.
The setlist stuck to the hits and audience favorites omitting any new
material as well as anything from the 1991 debut, Mental Jewelry. I had a
ticket for standing room only on the floor (stalls as the ticket says) and had
one hell of a time finding a good spot for sound. I stood DFC with both
the left and right stacks pointed directly at me, but it didnt matter. The
sound was just not that good in this venue and the crowd was loud to boot.
If you listen to "All Over You" or "Dolphin's Cry", you'll hear what I mean.
I just got done watching some YouTube videos (GotsomePearlJam) and the sound
was a tad better up in the balc, so perhaps the next show I see here, Ill stay
upstairs? Hard to judge being my first visit to this 116 year old venue. Show
was sold out & wall to wall. I got bumped a few times, had some loud clappers,
whistlers and talkers (esp. during Ed's solo acoustic songs), so be warned, but
if you can hang with it - its worth the listen. This was an excellent
performance albeit a below average recording.
