Very cool! Given the current music landscape, I imagine it’ll be really hard to get any radio play but would be very cool if this song (deservedly) got some exposure!!

Haha, the song sounds so clear and clean now. I’m used to a crappy quality demo tongue.gif
Quite a special moment we finally get what we all waited for so many years.

You can finally hear each bandmember playing on this track instead of one big sound we used to hear. Especially the guitar in the second verse for example.
Do you think the three songs were remastered after 1993? Or didn’t WDID (2004), Hold Me Up (2009) and now Susquehanna didn’t need any remixing at all after TC was finished?

Agreed! Thumbs up. I’m going to recommend the song by Dutch radio stations.

Also, I guess they will play it live on tour now they decided to make it a single. They did so with their last two singles. We know how it sounds in concert tho (2009 and I think I even heard some live recordings back in the day from 1993, but I’m not sure).

I just shared the song with friends of mine who probably don’t even care to know, that’s how proud I am to finally have it. smile.gif

I am also going to take a spin in my car in like 5 minutes, with the windows down and it cranked to the max.

Happy day!! bounce.gif

Thus concludes the longest 25 years in history, lol. They should take those logos out of the Vevo clip and replace it with performance footage from back then that almost certainly exists- it's almost a music video as is.

July 19 release, that's like 7 weeks. Not a terrible wait. music.gif rockin.gif

I hope you are right. Even though I did see the YouTube vid you mention of them performing it in concert, I’m going to force myself NOT to watch any YouTube uploads of it from this summer. I might have to sit on my hands, but I want to see and hear it in concert the first time (that other one doesn’t count) in July at my New Orleans show. Talk about special. My head might explode.

Hate to say it but is sounds like some amateur "remastered" Hold me up, probably Chad. Listen between 10-35 seconds, like someone slowly raaamped the amplitude up. It's also compressed all to hell to make the track loud. In the other versions there's dynamic range, so when that first snare hit before the chorus, it was electric.

Wish the original studio version was available on this

This brings a tear to the eye, what a beautiful, incredible, song.

Miles and miles ahead of anything they’ve released since TDTH with few exceptions.

No one is asking for miracles, but music made with this kind of passion, intensity and raw energy would certainly and unequivocally reinvigorate the fans.

Love this song.

LIVE DEBUT ‘THROWING COPPER’ OUTTAKE ‘HOLD ME UP’ – PREMIERE
CHAD CHILDERS
May 29, 2019

It was one of the top rock albums of the '90s and helped solidify Live's standing as a major force in the rock world. Now, 25 years later, Live are celebrating the anniversary of Throwing Copper with a 25th anniversary deluxe multi-format reissue. To help celebrate the anniversary, Live have teamed up with Loudwire to premiere the Throwing Copper outtake, "Hold Me Up."

Singer Ed Kowalczyk tells us, "'Hold Me Up' was recorded during the Throwing Copper sessions but not included on the album due to the time limitations of the compact disc. In my view, the song is as good as any on the record, so it's really exciting to finally get it out to our fans after all these years! It's like opening a time capsule we buried in the yard back in 1993 and finding a totally kick-ass song in it!"

The Super Deluxe 25th Anniversary Throwing Copper box set features the original album with bonus tracks. It includes 2LPs and 2CDs, including the band's previously unreleased eight-song performance from Woodstock '94 on a separate disc. The set comes with a 12-page booklet that includes an in-depth interview with the band reflecting the life-changing journey over that album cycle. See the full track listing below. It's available July 19 and is available to pre-order via digital service providers beginning this evening.

Live will spend their summer on the "ALT-IMATE Tour" with Bush, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Throwing Copper album. Get ticketing info for the tour here and see the dates listed below.

I wish I could be more excited about this but the last few years have slapped the taste out of my mouth. I'll still grab a copy of the anniversary edition though because I'm just a sucker I guess.
