It's still presale time. Tickets haven't officially gone on sale but they are already listed on Groupon. If you already purchased tickets you missed out on this deal.

Prices are good. For the Detroit show I got 4 lawn tickets for $80. That's compared to $162 for the exact same tickets after all the additional fees through Ticketmater when I checked during the first day of the presale. It's my understanding that upgrades are often available on Groupon tickets for about $10 the day of the show.

Don't know if the timing of the sale is standard practice or if this is already a sign of poorer than expected pre-sales but the tickets are currently listed on Groupon for the next 2 weeks. That will probably be extended and the prices may improve with a promo code. Groupon sends these out regularly to members - they usually apply to everything on the site. Currently there is not a valid code for a discount.

Just search Counting Crows in your area on Groupon if interested.

Here is how the show is listed on Groupon (for the Detroit show)

The Deal

One G-Pass to see Counting Crows and +LIVE+, starting from $20
General-admission lawn
Click to view the seating chart
How G-Pass Works: Within an hour of purchase, your G-Pass will be in your account. You may redeem your G-Pass via the mobile app when you enter the venue. You may also print it out in advance. Discount reflects the merchant’s current ticket prices - price may differ on day of event.

Counting Crows

Their Breakthrough: Captained by enigmatic singer Adam Duritz, Counting Crows exploded onto the scene in 1993 with the multiplatinum August and Everything After, and have sold more than 20 million albums since.

Somewhere Under Wonderland: In 2014, Counting Crows released their seventh studio album, which was recognized as one of the band’s “stronger works” by USA Today. The single “Dislocation” also made it onto Rolling Stone’s Top 50 Songs of 2014.

The Cause for Celebration: The band has been writing music and creating innovative concert experiences for more than a quarter century.

Adam Says: “The nice thing about having 25 years of music to celebrate and seven studio albums we absolutely love to choose from is that we can play a different show every night.”

+LIVE+

Who They Are: This multi-platinum band from Pennsylvania have sold over 22 million albums worldwide and earned two number one albums (Throwing Copper, Secret Samadhi).

Songs You Know: Their catalog is filled with such gems as “Lightning Crashes,” “I Alone,” “All Over You,” “Lakini’s Juice,” and “Heaven,” which live on today as classics at rock radio.

Limit 8/person. All sales final, subject to Extraordinary Event Policy. Must purchase together to sit together. Merchant reserves right to sub closer seat. ADA seating can't be guaranteed; contact box office prior to purchase for availability. Holder assumes all risk in connection w/ the event & releases Groupon & its affiliates, Ticketmaster, venue & their affiliates from any related claims. Ticket value includes all fees. Ticketmaster is issuer of tickets - discount reflects current ticket prices, which may change. Upon purchase, we will provide your email to Ticketmaster to be used in accordance with Ticketmaster's Privacy Policy.

Basically you are buying the tickets through Ticketmaster minus the fees they add on. At DTE there is also a $3 venue parking fee added to each ticket. This is also avoided through the Groupon purchase.

For Blossom Music Center in Cleveland the Groupon is for 15.00 a lawn ticket. I was going to buy lawn tickets anyway, so it is a great deal banana.gif

I've been front row for plenty of shows. I would invest in good seats if Live were headlining but lawn is fine for a Counting Crows headlining show. The Groupon is a great deal. I'm pretty excited to see these guys play together again!

Wow! Thanks for posting this! I wasn't even gonna go because of the reasons everyone else has posted, (Live should be headliner, hate counting crows, want smaller venue so they dont just recycle "the hits")

But at $19 each (with the THAW20 promo, THANKS HOODSTOCK!!) I just couldnt pass this up!!

I ended up buying 7 tickets! lol!

In a short livestream on Instagram CT again adressed they will play 70 minutes, Ed wrote this on FB too. Also CT promised they will play new stuff (I know they all did before, but never in this firect way). Pat came in Chad's livestream and said 'We better learn all of them then' hehe.gif it was nice seeing those two talking like two good friends via videochat.

I was also completely on the fence and leaning towards not going, but with the Groupon and the promotion it was impossible to pass up. If something comes up or I end up out of town for Labor Day weekend I am only out $16. Massive thanks Hoodstock!

Don't know about the other venues but Groupon has the Detroit show listed as a Hot Seller. The site also raised the price from $20 to $25 per ticket @ DTE.
