Hey. I forget who did this on the old board. But they posted a song everyday and we had a nice little discussion about them. I think with all the Noobs it would be interesting to do again. I'm not trying to steal anyones idea so whoever did this last time if they would like to do it cool, or if you don't mind me doing it that'd be cool too.

banana.gif Sounds like a great idea to me! and just to get the proverbial ball rolling ...

the song i am currently listening to:
White, Discussion

I once had a dream involving this song, was really quite frightening actually. I was watching a concert performance of this song before i went to bed, was watching it on a dvd i copied it to with a really good surround sound system rockin.gif guitar.gif thumbsup.gif
During the dream, as the song suggests, i saw this odd depiction of the end of the world/apocalypse, and Live was playing this song on top of this mountain. There was fire everywhere, tidal waves crashing against the shores, earthquakes, hurricanes, you name it.
Just so damn crazy, haha though i loved it cool.gif

Look where all this talkin' got us ... whistle.gif

hope this gets the topic going hi.gif
Auf Wiedersehen, Kristof

"..i warned you, i told you, i told you what to expect..."

one of my very favorite live songs. when i hear this song i just get carried away. i have played guitar & bass for over 20 years, but i had not owned or played a bass in over 15. last year i bought a bass & the main inspiration was this song. i just love pat's bass line, simple but powerful. to me white, discussion epitomizes live jamming at their best, they just cut lose & let it go!

spot on, this song is just awesome in concert thumbsup.gif

just one thing, does anyone even know what is completely said during the "i warned you ... i prepared you" bit? the entire piece i mean, i always miss the last few lines of what is said.
Also in the studio recording of White, Discussion, does anyone know what is said right at the end of the song during all of the distortion? it sounds just like the voice from the middle of the song, but different words are said.

My favorite song, LIVE or non-LIVE, of all-time...if I were to die in a car wreck, it's the song I want on the radio (there's a nice thought, huh smile.gif )

Best part of the song is the 4 bars right before chorus kicks back in for the 2nd time, where Pat briefly changes the bass line to decending half-notes (the part of the song where Ed routinely give Gracey the "Chad Gracey, can you raise the volume up, etc." during shows now)

10 years and a lot of talk by some other drummers I know later, still waiting to see someone play this well on drums besides THE MAN (key word is WELL)

This song is just awsome. From the first note to the last. Its perfect. There's nothing i would change at all. The music just fits the mood of the song. I also love the flute or whatever wind instrument was used.

Funny enough i didnt like this song at first. Oh, I never heard it before but while examining the cassette case I noticed the name of the song, opened it up and noticed that all of them were white boys and thought "Uh oh" nervous.gif nervous.gif thinking they were some Lynard Skynard~sp? type band connected to the Klan nervous.gif.

At that time I had only listened to a couple of the songs to about LC and was really loving them esp I Alone, but had never gotten that far to WD because its at the end of the cassette. So, really taking note of the WD title made me start thinking, oh no i gotta stop listening to this band. I was just thinking I don't wanna but I've got to.

Anyway, I listened to it realised they were not crazy white supremisists. I understood the sentiment of the song and fell in love with it. It is one of my favs.
Funny how the folks who i thought were KKK turned out to be my fav band hehe.gif lol.gif

I've always felt that White, Discussion is the best song to end a show. I was so happy that they kept doing it long after TC. When they play it, I feel like every bit of energy that's left in the room, and all of their energy, just goes to making that song absofuckinglutely ROCK!

something about the times and the seasons. but then again, i quoted incorrectly in my first post, leaving out the prepared you...lol...thanks for the subtle correction. guess i need to pull out TC & give it a listen, huh? thumbsup.gif

yeah it starts with a song i don't liked and was quite unknown to me

someone in this thread noticed it was because it was at the end of his/her casette, and so in my case: my cd-listening of TC always came till the last song, but I thought it was a boring song, I always stopped the cd after a minute or something, and the first time I heard the guitar change in the song I was like: mannn, there's a lot more in the song, it's great happy.gif and after seeing it for the first time in a live-version video ( I think it was the performance at the BoP dvd - Pinkpop02 you know ) I knew it for sure: for ever one of my favos of Live !!

This was always my favorite song in concert. To further solidify my love, during this last show in NYC, Ed came down from the stage during this song and stood right in front of me for about one minute. I wrapped my hand around his waist so tight I think he had a hand mark on him. I too could have died and never been happier. Perfect song for that experience.

Yep, it was me.

Basically I posted a new thread every morning titled "Live Song of the Day #__: Title of Song," and board members would then have that thread to look at and comment on for the rest of the day. We did it until we reached the very last song in Live's studio album arsenal! thumbsup.gif

With a new album out and tons of new board members, I think it's a great idea to start this up again. However, I recommend having a single board member in charge of choosing what the song is going to be, and posting that song to a thread each day, otherwise it can get quite confusing.

I would be more than happy to begin this again if you all want. Or, if someone else prefers to take over, that's fine with me, too. I say we begin afresh on Monday morning and add a song every day after that.

kicking.gif go for it, EdStipe
just make sure to see if we can have a completely different song everyday, and im sure that won't be such a problem considering Live's catalogue music.gif

One of my all-time faves. I've always thought that if I could write music I'd want it to sound like WD. TERRIFIC SHIT!!!
