The beauty of going to shows and listening to bootlegs is we have heard alot of LIVE songs that never made it to an album.

The two i really wish would have are Change and Cheetah (Lift Me Up). Change was cut from TDTH i guess and LMU was cut from TC.

Do ya'll remember/like those songs? Can you think of any others?

Lift Me Up (also known as 'hold me up' or 'spew') and Cheetah are two entirely different songs.

Lift Me Up was recorded during the Throwing Copper sessions (which alone is enough to confirm that it is probably THE best song never released) and Cheetah is from the Secret Samadhi sessions.

Your right. My bad. Wasn't cheetah also called susquehanna or something like that? Maybe that was another song too.

But your right and i definitely like LMU better than Cheetah.

"Susquehannah" is also a different song. It's also quite cool. My favourite unreleased song is "Born Branded"´.

My favourite unreleased song is "Born Branded"´.

It technically isn't an "unreleased" song, because it appeared on a compilation cd back in the early 90's.

My vote would be for "Lift Me Up". I can't believe they left that one off of Copper.

Lift me up is one of most beautiful songs ever written by a human being. It is understandable why they left it off TC as the album was full of great songs. But i never understood why such an excellent song never made it on a Live album. I would die for an answer.

remember back in the day when a whole bunch of live fans got together and signed a petition for a bsides album??

well, with the advent of myspace and other such ways of getting to the band, why don't we instead focus on requesting just one SONG for them to put out.

yes, i know they're on a different label, so they cant make money off of it... but they could be nice and just leak it. seriously, let's just all myspace ed and chad and ask for 'lift me up'

i actually asked chad for that weeks ago, and just bugged ed on myspace for it today.

i don't suggest we harress them or anything... just politely ask for them to finally put that fucking song out already!! tongue.gif

I'd rather it be part of an album, rather than just leaked onto the internet. And I think Ed would feel the same way too. He wants people to focus solely on the new album now.

They put Overcome on V, even though it didn't quite fit on that album, because they heard fans wanted it released. So if there's enough fans requesting "Lift Me Up" to be released, I'm sure they'd think about releasing it in the future.

I've never heard New City either. I think i remember an article in a guitar magazine from when TDTH was released when Chad Taylor said they recorded enough material for two albums. I'd like to hear all the stuff that didn't make the album.

I'd vote for Change to be released on the next album. It might help them get back to a darker, more edgy sound.

Isn't that Ed's quote about Supernatural? I'm glad you made that distinction, because all of the songs written by aliens and goats are way more beautiful.

Live recorded 'lift me up' while they were under a different label, making a commercial release impossible at this point. Our only hope of getting it is through a leak.
