Chris died of an apparent suicide. Soundgarden preformed at the beautiful Fox Theater in Detroit Wednesday night. He was found dead in his hotel room at the MGM Grand Hotel after the show.

Add Soundgarden and Audio Slave to the growing list of rock bands you will never see again.

Last time it was Weiland. What is up with 90's lead singers?

Ya, it's local NBC news.

If you go to the Fox Theater Facebook page they posted the last 2 pictures of him taken on stage.

I posted this in the rock on the range thread already, but thought i would post it here.
It's Ed playing a few seconds of Spoonman by Soundgarden in Orlando in 1994.

Another local news report coming out that he hung himself with a belt in his bathroom.

http://detroit.cbslocal.com/2017/05/18/chr...-death-detroit/

Sad day for the rock community.

The band also changed the last song. Instead of playing what was on their set list they covered a Led Zepplin song about death. This was a song they had covered before.

No idea if that was done intentionally by Chris.

New details have emerged in a leaked police report.
http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/chr...s-death-w483238

His family is saying that there is no way he would have intentionally committed suicide. The problem I have is, the timeline. He probably left the stage around 10:30 p.m./11 p.m. and was dead by 12:15? If he took too much Ativan, would it have affected him that much, that quickly (to the point where he is unaware of what he is doing)? His body guard was even with him for some of that last hour. And what about that strange hashtag on his last tweet: #nomorebullshit ? Some people are assuming it was a sign. "No More Bullshit" is this song by Camper Van Beethoven:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOr_ecgm_AA with lyrics: "No more bullshit, no more MTV, no more rock starts, no more bullshit. Elvis Presley died and no-one knows why."

It's all too weird.

It's like how prince, michael jackson, and george michael died in their 50's.

Some party out there makes millions or even billions off their death. Just gotta hire someone to make it look like a suicide or natural causes. tongue2.gif

Still in Shock.
Just watched a clip of David Cook (ex american idol) sing one of his singles Light On which was co written by Chris Cornell.
Moving tribute and at the end even used a small recording of Chris singing it.
RIP

I don't know enough about these medications to say Ativan is the same as this but I know there are some that give takers a nonsensical sense of wanting to take their own lives even if they have never had such tendancies before. My ex took a quit smoking drug for a couple of weeks and when he stopped he told me that it was giving him sucidial thoughts along with the urge to kill others (myself and our kids). I would NEVER have thought in a million years that it was giving him these thoughts. He was in fact incredibly calm and easy going the whole two weeks he was on it. It wasn't just within an hour or whatever of taking it. He said it was in his head within days of starting the drug and only went after a couple of days of taking it. He also didn't have any history of mental health issues.
