Someone told me that on a Live FB group, CCP's long time business associate just said that it is FACT that Ed NEVER stole from his bandmates. Very nice to be able to finally put all that drama to rest.

Note: This thread was not created by SJN1279. It was split from the NYE Party At Think Loud Entertainment thread.

So was the whole "privately seeking a lead-singer bonus for himself" thing not true? Because I would certainly consider that attempted theft from his band-mates.

(I don't claim to know any facts about the situation at all, just curious)

I saw that. Which means it must be fact that he was also lying for years about how bad Ed was as he continued to trash him. But I don't buy it. This is Live trying to whitewash the past. Fingers in their ears "la la la nothing bad happened everything is good" sometimes it's easier to just ignore the truth than talk about it.
I mean you believe Bill now when the narrative suits what you want? He was a company man and a mouthpiece and all that when he was sprouting anti-Ed sentiments, even on this board. The only proof you really need about Ed is how ridiculously guilty he was in that Face Culture video.

Well, technically that wouldn't be stealing from the rest of the band as much as Ed getting more money on top of his current share. The rest of the band still gets the same amount of money whether he gets a bonus or not.

But one simple possibility is that Ed just didn't take much part in his own financial decisions. It's entirely possible his management was seeking a lead singer bonus for him without his knowledge. It would certainly explain why the band and he were able to get back in good standing so quickly after they began communicating again.

But that's all just speculation.

I recall it was a request. Who knows what really happened though

You really think I'm 2016/17 Ed will rediscover what made him great in the 90s and somehow reproduce quality of that level so undeniable that fans who have continually felt more and more resentment towards him for 15yrs will come back around in such numbers it'll reunite the fanbase? 'It only that, but he'll find a way to make so many of those fans somehow forget all the underhanded and horrible things he did along the way to a point where they can enjoy the music unobstructed? I mean, sure, if you believe in miracles/God, then why not...
You can say that CCP have that belief in him again, but CCP also stand to make some money out of this so that comes back to my original point in all of this reunion - it's purely financially motivated and that isn't in the spirit of Live. It's CCP recognising a chance to make some more cash and the financial partners getting on board because they want some more money too. With all that going on, how can a fan base truly reunite?

But as Nick says, it's all about how "successful" it is. CCP should welcome Nick back with open arms now seeing as they at least have reunited in philosophies - money!!

Ok first of all CCP don't need to do anything for money. Are you paying attention. They are HUGELY successful businessmen. This is where you are 100% wrong.

Chad never accused ed of theft. Greed, infringement, breach of contract were the main $ accusations

Uh huh, just like you were wrong when you called Ed a piece of crap who stole from his bandmates? This is a cash grab, you can't spin it.

Haha oh we are playing the "technically..." game now. There was the whole black coffee deal. But even if he didn't (he heavily implied it if nothing else), Bill certainly said so:

There's nothing much interesting about it unfortunately. Bill is a company man, he'll do and say whatever needs to be said and spin whatever needs to be spun. It's painfully obvious that Live is doing some spring cleaning on their own history. Rewriting what they can. Easier to avoid/change the narrative than get into the messy stuff. I would take anything that is said with the biggest grain of salt given that the number one goal here is to protect the integrity of CCP and now Ed. Easier to get people's money that way! But I get it, they want a clean break from the past. Just to white wash everything and start anew. That's admirable in its own way, but you can do it without the spin.

But again, seeing as this is a thread about the NYE party, I hope Bill extends an invite to Nick seeing as apparently all along Nick was right and Ed is an absolutely stand up guy. It would be the only decent thing to do to make it up to Nick for spending so long telling him how wrong he was about everything.

At the time I made that statement I had a limited amount of information and should never have said that. Emotions sometimes get the best of people.
This was not the case, and I have apologized to the one person that deserves that apology.
I even went to his solo show in Bethlehem, PA earlier this year. Amazing show!

Although i have nothing against Nick. Going back and looking at the many ways people began their posts regarding him are pretty hilarious. It was usually like - "Hey Nick (INSERT SOMETHING REALLY TERRIBLE).
