Chris, hands down. But I realise on this board that is the minority. Although the return to TGF would be great. Which I still believe will happen some time. The time line I imagine would be Live reunite with Ed - do an album, a tour, something cool for SS maybe. Once that has wound down, Ed might do another solo thing (part of the compromise - "Ed, we want you to try and be good with us and to blow off steam and be bad, definitely continue your solo stuff"). And if KM is free then we may get a look in at TGF at that time (some songs are already recorded). Probably wouldn't try and make something of it this time - no bus. Just a low key release and a handful of shows as opposed to proper tour.

Anyways, yeah, would have much preferred Chris.

I hope not, i would like this all to be a permanent return of LIVE.

TGF were fucking awesome really. But honestly it's probably healthy that Ed does still do solo and CCP can do stuff like TGF. Like, healthy for Live. It's clear that's the sort of styles both prefer and they have said that one big mistake they made with Live in the past was nothing having breaks and giving each other space. Breaks where Ed can do solo stuff and CCP can do stuff like TGF are probably a good thing.

There should be one other option: "Ed if he's back to his former Pre-V era self. "

Live isn't Live without Ed. I don't get how anyone prefers a replacement over the original.

It's mind-boggling to me also. The only way I understand is if the lead singer passes away. The key here is, when you replace a lead singer, that singer HAS, I repeat HAS TO be just as good, or better than who is being replaced. That happening is very, very rare. It's the only time it works for a band's success. It's like Sammy with Van Halen. Sure, you will have fans who prefer Dave, but there's no denying the success with Sammy or the fact he's on the sane level.

It did not work for Live because CS is sub par.

I'd like to add something I just thought about... I always loved INXS, which I got a lot of shit from my metal head friends about, but they were amazing and Michael was the sexiest man to ever walk the planet, had charisma like no other. I was watching that reality show they had to replace Hutch, feeling sorry for the rest of the guys because they would never find another. God broke the mold on Hutchence. Anyway, there was a tall, lanky blonde guy on that show (I think it was that one!) and he covered some Live songs. He was interesting. I just thought of it, but can't remember his name. I think I might have enjoyed him as a replacement for Ed (for a minute). Now I've gotta look that up...

What a stupid poll. This isn't 2012 anymore.

How so, "The Turn" was not even out in 2012, all we had were +Live+ albums with Ed on vocals. This time we actually have a +Live+ album with a different singer (The Turn) to judge by. This is a perfect time for this poll if you ask me, i mean we actually have comparisons we can make! lol.gif

And, the most current news (and ONLY current news) indicates a switch back from Chris to Ed. Which only makes it an even MORE perfect time for this poll, as it's current events.

On the other hand, he was far better than Ed has been since 1998 smile.gif

No, no he wasn't.

I'm sure I could go in the studio and sing for LIVE's next album and they could clean my vocals up to sound really good on the finished product. But that isn't going to help how I sound on stage, my stage presence, or how often I remember lyrics. Hey, just like Chris.

Now Ed's goofy music videos; well, that's a different case...
