My wife and I came up with a plan for Live. We said they should play one show on a Saturday night by the end of the year. Bill it as one night only. All four original members, a setlist of Live's greatest work, and a vote by the fans on some obscure Live songs in which should be included as well. It will reunite the fanbase for one night, and if successful, maybe more.

Are we insane, or is it a good plan?

Not insane at all. Don't guess they ever come here to read anything, so why not post this on LIVE and Ed's Facebook and Tweet it to them, etc. Ed interacts with the fans more on social media.- Even if he didn't comment, at least you know there's a great chance of him seeing it.

I wish I could meet Ed. I'd say he needs to get back with CCP right to his face. What's he gonna do? shrug.gif

My vote for the obscure LIVE reunion song would definitely be Hold Me Up!

It all makes sense except the fan vote for obscure songs, because a) they are obscure because they don't want to play them, and b) for any kind of reunion to be successful beyond one night, they have to appeal to people who are not super fans and just play the stuff everyone wants to hear.

I know a lot of you guys insist that some of these b-side/outtake songs are the greatest thing ever, but I can't think of a single one that has ever blown me away. And the band, as noted above, obviously agrees, if they liked them, they'd be on the albums.

Get it right.

Honestly, I don't think there is any chance of hearing obscure songs if they did a reunion show. You'd get 15-20 of the "greatest hits" and that's probably about it.

Their focus would be on getting back together and seeing if they could still work together, not on re-learning songs they haven't played in a million years because they felt they weren't good enough to make it onto an album.

I can think of a few - Photograph | Cheetah | Mallrat | Hold me Up | Susquehanna

Susquehanna is my favorite, Mallrat a close second. Put these in concert and I go nuts. Always believed Mallrat wasn't included in SS because of the chorus being a little bit similar to Lightning Crashes in the way the guitar chords are strummed. But the song really has that SS vibe. Susquehanna could fit in both SS and TC.

Mallrat is in my top 10 Live songs. Absolute gold. A proper version of Hold me Up would be insanely good. I don't need a better version of Susquehanna as the version from the Rhode Island 93 gig cannot be topped - Ed in peak form. Listen to that bootleg and that's the reason current day Ed pisses me off so much because he hasn't got a fart's chance in a hurricane of being able to capture that again, doesn't even try to. Anyways. Those 3 blow me away/would blow me away. The rest I think are good but not top 10/15/20 material.

Mallrat is great. Susquehanna is in my top my top 3 for sure and that concert performance you mentioned is unreal. I still want a mastered version because i already love the low quality TC demo. To have a clean version would be amazing.
