uggg, I wish they weren't playing this shitty fest. There are so many cool venues here in Columbus. I'd love to see them, but I refuse to go to this crapfest.

First, I just hate festivals. The sound sucks, there are a ton of people, and everything is overpriced. Plus, all the bands are crap on this lineup. Linkin Park? Slipknot? Papa Roach? It is a shame that Live gets lumped in with this nu-metal. Rock on the Range is usually just a white-trash party.

I don't like festivals either. The shows are too long, and the bathrooms get sketchy by the end. Give me a regular show any day.

I'm not a fan of those big festivals. I have been to a few smaller ones (6-10 bands) and they are OK. But a 3 day festival, ugh, I feel like I need to take a week long shower when I get home.

I concur. I stopped going to festivals over 10 years ago. Give me a small club show any time.

I'm actually at the point that I much prefer an assigned seat. smile.gif

Doesn't that make it hard to shake your rump and oscillate those hips when Ed's playing Sophia though?

The video below is one of Slipknot's more beautifully nuanced performances.

But in all seriousness, this would be a rough festival. I can only assume they are hoping The Turn will appeal to some newer audiences with its heavier tone? This seems slightly akin to an ICP concert.

In Australia we have a similar festival. It's called Soundwave and it features many of the bands that are at the Rock on the Range festival. https://www.soundwavefestival.com/ - It's probably the #1 festival in Australia. Maybe Live will be a late addition?

I dunno, there are festivals like this all over the USA. Is Live scheduled for any others (I really hope not...)

I live in Columbus and was crossing my fingers LIVE werent going to be on the bill. That might sound crazy... but take this into account:

LIVE will only get 30 minutes or less.
LIVE will no doubt be placed on a 2nd "side" stage outside of the stadium.
LIVE has to sign a contract with the promoters promising they cannot play another show within the Columbus city limits for the remainder of 2015.
The line up is not very friendly to fans of LIVE (not just this year, but every year sans 2013's). How many of us really want to see Linkin Park, Papa Roach, Marilyn Manson or Judas Priest? Exactly.
The parking at ROTR is atrocious. Getting out of the lots at night takes 1 to 2 hours. No joke.
Prices of food and drink...

I could go on... all for a 30 minute or less set.
I know this because I went through it to see Oleander play 29 minutes (checked my recording) in 2013.

See, I thought the lineup was very LIVE fan friendly. I would love to see Manson, Slipknot, Godsmack, Breaking Ben, Volbeat...are you kidding me what a great band, York County natives Halestorm, the legend Slash, Scott Weiland's band, Apocolyptica, Tremonti, so many good bands there. I think LIVE's fan base is much more musically diverse than what some think. I think they fit in that bill well. Just too bad I really hate festivals.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree. I couldnt sit through any of those bands.

I was thinking from a 90s alt rock contemporaries standpoint.
