After telling this story to Jerry Harrison he said “that’s what this song is about”. I had already written the chorus with the word Fire being used metaphorically but to be honest, I was apprehensive about revealing this wound in such an intimate way. But once we started writing the first verse, it became something cathartic. Something I’ve needed to do for almost 20 years. I’m quite proud of this one.

This song is about the things you go through in order to arrive where you are in your life and how no one can really know, exactly, what it took for you to get there. It took fire.

Yes, his brother survived and his name is Chad, Chris's older brother. There are actually some home videos of Chris and his whole family from the 90's on his youtube page.

Wow, I can def relate.
Fire just does something to you that no matter what you do in life...the memory is just there.

I was severely burned in an accident involving fire and had to have plastic surgery.
I fear the smell of smoke now, if i smell it, i panic.
My scars remind me everyday of how lucky i was.

Thank God they were ok.

No. I thought that maybe orders from Amazon may have had different packaging compared to what was sent out by PledgeMusic. But I have been in contact with people who ordered from both sites and both came without lyrics. Very disappointing.
