I went to a lot of the shows in Pittsburgh and I saw the acoustic show that they did with Janes Addiction.

I believe it was then that Live started to crumble to me.

Ed appeared to be nearly drunk for the performance and was drinking throughout the show. About five songs in Ed was doing Overcome by himself and someone (not sure if it was a guitar tech or Chad himself) made a mistake and bumped their guitar. It made a quick sound and was quickly muted. Mid vocals, Ed swings around and makes and angry gesture at Chad then turns back to the crowd to continue singing. Chad then threw his guitar down on the couch and left the stage.

This sadly, was my last memory of a Live concert.

Ed was not the same frontman that I had remembered during that show. He had a different feel about him. Don't know if it was self righteousness or not, but it is sad that this is how I have remembered him.

What was your last memory of Live?

Last March in York. It was like watching a phoenix being reborn from the flames.

Lol... You guys are sarcastic, you know what he meant.

The last show I saw was at the house of blues in Dallas Texas May 13th 2009. I had a great time!! The guys were on that night and played hold me up, blowin in the wind, believe, and turn my head. I saw no ill will between them and Ed did a little monologue about twitter if I recall. He also did a little speech before hold me up talking about Zack and Miri. I went with my current wife but then girlfriend and it was her first LIVE show. It was actually the best LIVE show I have seen because the set list was so shook up. happy.gif

The video is low quality but it is one of the few recordings we have of believe.

That riff will never be anything other than Honest Man to me... any time I hear it I expect KM's voice to come flying in. Hearing Ed there just messes with my head.

My birthday in Vegas at the Palazzo at their second to last show together. Ed looking completely, utterly detached from the rest of the band, while wrapping himself in a scarf for no apparent reason (it was like 95º outside). The others looking like they would rather be anywhere but playing on stage.

I agree with you. 'Believe' wasn't a really good song. Thanks to TGF it's one of my favorite songs.

I went to my one and only LIVE show in Melbourne in 2006 at the Palais. I was so excited to be there, seeing them for real, 4 rows back from the front (only bought tickets last minute as I didn't realise they were coming to Aust) that it didn't really worry me that they were a bit rough around the edges. Quite a few tech mishaps, Ed was having trouble with his voice and obviously knocking back the grog and not a whole lot of bonding going on between them all. CT and CG where fab in their own rights, Ed did get his shirt off and I appreciated that, Patrick was lost in his own little world and the crowd loved it. I was amazed to realise they had such a loyal, strong following...something that was unknown to me at the time as I had not long before worked out who LIVE were even though I had loved their music for a long time.

well hre is my review of the last time i saw LIVE . it was their 3rd night at the palais in melbourne and yes i had been to the first two..

Well our third night, just me and my 10 year old daughter. The cowd was standing at the first song and never sat down all night. This despite Ed's voice being a little tired. He struggled through the first 4 - 5 songs and then told us he was going to sing like Johnny Cash for the rest of the night. He reckoned it was our fine wine that might be effecting him (could've been slightly intoxicated). But the band made up for it with great enthusiasm. Ed had several conversations in the middle of songs to give his singing voice a break. Anyways, it was still great and the only sad thing is how long we have to wait for them to come back.

Then my daughter and I went down ackland street for a coffee and cake (hot choc for her). you should have seen her face...I will never forget her standing on the seat next to me, foam ear plugs firmly in her ears screaming out the words to Iris (her fav song)

Yeah those palais shows were my last, I only had tickets to the first night but through some Jimmy Lang magic I somehow ended up at nights 2 & 3 as well. I remember a pre-meet at the Prince of Wales where Dangum walked up to me and just handed me this awesome Smiths DVD he'd downloaded and burnt to DVD without me having even asked or mentioned it, great surprise and present Dan and I still got it!
The first night I went with a friend who had never seen Live before but missed the last 2 tours, she loved it ... I can't deny it was a high energy show. We had seats about half way back on the ground floor but when everyone stood and moved to the front then so did we. The second night I got blind drunk at the show and then even drunker hanging with Jimmy and Matt Gracey and a few others, being 20 at the time I didn't really know my limits and Jimmy's hotel bathroom paid the price dearly! I remember drinking a whole bottle of straight Jägermeister and some malt drink and beers and other stuff. I don't remember going from Matt Gracey's room to Jimmy's but apparently I was jumping up and down in the elevator trying to break it, but I was tucked up on the couch under a blanket until morning.
I don't even remember the 3rd show, so technically I have no memory of my last Live show as I was so hung over and out of it at the time but still turned up!

Wam, you would have been so proud!

Also makemedream, awesome story, glad you brought your daughter along! My first Live concert was when I was 12 and my Dad brought me along back in 97, if your daughter is like I was then she'll never forget a moment of it!

LOL, Badman, this was also my last show. If you got backstage and saw PD touching a pregnant girls stomach that was my wife. Both my kids heard Live in concert before they were born. That's how we rock in this family, by God.
