We are at a special time in the world of LIVE. Many of us like what we have heard but remain apprehensive about whether new LIVE will be able to impress the rest of the world like they have impressed us. But what is it we actually want?

Do we want LIVE to be popular? Which would be better in your eyes; a commercial victory and being able to talk with strangers and have them recognize who LIVE is without an explanation or would it be better to have a deep, meaningful, and great sounding album that flops commercially? Would being popular again change them?

Weigh in people and think about what it is you actually want.

I just want honest, good music. Drums, guitars, bass, and a singer that gives a shit and sings within his voice. It's not hard, we've seen it years ago, and we saw it with TGF.

I personally don't care about that, I care about the music. I certainly wish them success, I would never take that away from them. They've worked hard, and have done a great job giving back to their home town.

That being said, the music is what matters the most.

Have you listened to the radio recently? Just about any station that is playing new music is playing loads of crap. They are being payed to play garbage. There are very few stations out there that actually are doing a good job finding new music and playing it on their own. That's why such services as Pandora are getting so big. People can listen to good music.

I want music that's awesome.
If they became radio popular, that would be great for them and for me, because it would mean the music would be more accessible (presumably they'd tour more, but not necessarily) and it's awesome to hear music I love on the radio.

but I don't actually care if they become popular like that. as long as the music is awesome. it would be the cherry on top if they became popular like that.

Radio is dying, but I'd love to see them be popular in any medium. However, it won't matter a bit if the music is complete crap.

I want them to get what they deserve. They already have a crazy fanbase, world domination will just be a nice lil bonus.

Live is more than a band

This.

I'm also not going to judge the quality of the music by its level of popularity, they could sell 7 copies and if it rocks my socks then I'm all for it. It could sell 7 million but if it's shit, I won't care, in fact I'd be more pissed if they produced crap and it skyrocketed.

But realistically they won't be huge, and I know the quality of music will be great. I'd like to see them recognised for their talents, they deserve it.

If they only sold 7 copies they would only need to sell 4 more to outsell my band's last record. lol.gif

I dont care if they make it on the radio or not. If I like it, I'll listent to it. And I know if they tour, they'll make a stop here, so that's covered too. Happy for them if they do make another name for themselves in the mainstream.

And speaking of radio..

I heard LC on the radio here in Atlanta over the weekend. DJ was talking about them after the song was over. Talking about them being so big in the 90's and that they broke up, and said "unfortunately it doesnt look like they're getting back together any time soon." I forget which station it was on. 96.1 maybe?

One of the best radio stations still being run iw WBRU in Rhode Island......all new stuff, not much of the crap!! Multiple formats and genres all week.

So, do I want Live to be commercial again......it doesn't matter to me.

If they officially release Hold Me Up, that would be big and perhaps become a commercial success and I hope a tour of smaller stature will translate into a bigger tour with multiple bands!!! my 2 cents!!

Call the DJ and inform him of what's going on, then have them update the greater ATL listeners.
