I want to trim some of the audience applause in Live at the Paradiso. When I edit the file in Audacity, will the original EQ levels remain intact? Or will I have to manually EQ each track?

After importing a file, does Audacity strip anything away from the original file? Or all settings (db, bass, treble, high) unchanged until I edit them?

I am by no means an Audacity expert, but I use it occasionally to tweak my recordings.
As long as the EQ changes you've made in saved into the .WAV file, Audacity will bring in the file as is.

What do you mean by track?

I'd assume that nothing changes upon import, only when you edit.

I'm not aware of a global EQ setting

You may be able to drag all the songs into one Track, and then EQ it that way.

Or it probably wouldn't be too excruciating to EQ each track one at a time.

If you're trying to remove applause through EQ, I assume you sacrifice those frequencies in the song.

Go ahead and chop it up though - shitty performance, can't sound much worse!

From what I understand - at the end of a particular track there is X seconds of audience applause and you want to get rid of it. If that's the case, just remove that part and export it to WAV and all the original EQ settings will remain intact.

If you want something easier to chop up your recording, I recommend using CD Wave. Its primary purpose it to track out long recordings.

That's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks Dangum!
