Agree with Jaybb, Think people having waited so long for their favourite band to put something out were just desperate to like it. I know I tried to convince myself it wasn't shit. I'm sure this poll now would have a slightly different outcome...

I actually avoided really listening to the album all these years because of the negativity it received. Only within the past week did i really listen to it with an open mind and i like it very much. It's definitely not what you expect from them, that's for sure. A couple stinkers on it but all in all very positive album and great melodies.

Have I mentioned 100 times yet that I like The River?

I also like Love Shines. That's all I have to say about that.

Do I like it? Well, in its own context there are some okay songs (albeit missed opportunities at the same time) in Show and Sofia. But as a whole, and especially looking at it in the bigger picture of Live's body of work...

... no, I don't. It's poor.

SFBM is an insult to LIVE's previous work!

I find it interesting and ironic that thus far, the poll results are the complete opposite of what it was during the months after the album came out.

It goes to show how Ed's actions and image has affected how we view the band and his music. Sorry Ed, but the majority of Live fans despise you for the road you led the band down.

Also some of the actions of people like Nick attribute to his image.

Believe it or not, I find myself hoping Ed makes an awful next album or doesn't sell out venues just because of Nick. That is how aggravating Nick can be.

And even though I give Ed a hard time I am one of the people who, in the end, would prefer Ed come back to Live. I wasn't all that angry at Ed when the break up happened. I figured they were big boys and they could all take care of their business. Sure, it sucked. But it is music and shit happens. It won't be the first or last time this happens. Too bad it happened to my favorite band but life marches on.

But Nick, and people like him, have soured my opinion of Ed and it is a shame that those people can't or just don't want to realize that they are doing more harm than good.

I'm sure Ed's actions made many Live fans despise him. But we don't really have any stats telling us that the majority of all Live fans despise Ed for the road he led the band down. Also, the previous SFBM poll had about 100 votes. Most of those people who said they liked SFBM in the last poll probably don't come here anymore.

For myself this has nothing to do with Ed or his actions. The album itself is bad, and it does not matter how big of an asshole the frontman is.

If any religious/spiritual band would've made SFBM it would be a completely different case, but it was LIVE, and for LIVE to make an album such as this one is pretty ridiculous.

That's what I think...

Sorry man, but fans that are dissuaded by a few extremists can leave. The image and fandom should be about the music and the artist. It shouldn't be about Nick at all.

Who knows why they left. I'll say that for the most part only a small amount of very stubborn Live fans have stuck around here.

....I don't know what I'd call this next phase just yet. Could be Live. Could be Live 2.0. Might have to call it Live with a new singer. We'll see.
