Ed is working on new music. Quoted from Facebook:

"(Ed K.) Greetings all! Just a quick update - getting some much needed rest from an amazing amount of travel this year (I have 400,000 frequent flier miles across the airlines I use, DANG, that's a lot of time on the derriere and a whole lot of passport stamps) best news, writing and recording LOTS of new music :-) stay tuned"

Interested to see how the new tunes will sound (maybe taking some risks or more of the same?).

Hey guys - we always ask people not to trash TGF and Live threads. Let's try to keep this one positive to set a good example!

"Ed Kowalczyk (of Live)" is headlining the afternoon set (not the evening set) at the Taste of DC Festival on Sunday, October 9th.

Because Ed is pretty stiff with setlists I doubt he'll display anything new, but if anyone catches the show let us know (and if he does drop a new track let us know how it sounds).

Instead of trashing every other thread why don't you show some positive love and support in the Ed forms?

If there was an announcement that TGF were heading to the studio there would be more than 1 response.

Ed fans - how about some excitement or anticipation? This is Ed, voice of Live.

hoodie, I'm excited, but at the same time I'm nervous we'll end up w recycled crap. I will absolutely give it an honest listen, but just like I had to explain to myself that ed is singing w a backing band, not a collaborative group of musicians, I also have to wrap my head around the idea that ed will not be making Live songs anymore. I will, of course end up comparing his new stuff to Lives new stuff (which I fear will come out roughly the same time) & that's not really a fair comparison because they are all not who they were back in the day.
but really, I have nothing new to say. I'm excited. But it better be good!

Holding out for some weightier music with a bit more depth to it, perhaps more flexible in terms of the music itself and the content of the lyrics... but I'm not sure. We'll have to see.

One thing Ed did a good job with for his first album was using youtube and his website to get out videos, information, and even acoustic portions of songs so interested people could follow the progress and know what was going on.

Hopefully he takes the same approach this time as well.

Will you buy it or just pirate it like 99% of former Live fans just to get a kick of what Ed has become?
