So V is winning the battle in regards to SFBM. It will be intereseting to see which album will win this poll. Possibly V? Will V end up as one of the LIVE top 5 best albums...?

I personally will vote for V. Even though BOP was a step back to more or less traditional roots, it did leak with a lack of energy that is present on V.

Both albums had their ups and downs, but to me more "downs" were present on BOP. LIVE did choose a new direction on V, but it was still that old LIVE with the "fuck you" attitude.

So my vote goes to V. guitar.gif

V has more bad songs that BOP while BOP has some really great songs, namely She, Like I Do, Lighthouse, River Town. Anyway, I voted for BOP largely bacause of Like I Do.

This is a tough one. I voted BoP because I think it was a better overall CD. The songs I didn't like on BoP I could at least listen to. I can tolerate them. On V there are some songs that I just can't even stomach.

I feel like Overcome and Like I Do are the two best songs out of the two albums.

It's a tough one for me. Both have some decent AND forgettable songs... neither is anywhere close to the league of the originals. V seems to at least try hard (misguided though it may be, and seriously trashy), whilst BOP is... well... I don't know. BOP still comes off pretty bland to me. And though Like I Do is good, I think it's a little overrated. It seems better than it is, for me, JUST because it's on BOP.

So, in summary, I have no idea which to vote for. Probably V, but not by much, and as much to do with personal preference as anything else.

I think BoP still had a little (and I mean very little) creativity to it.

It was almost like a car running out of gas. MJ filled up the tank and the next three albums sped down the highway. V was them taking the wrong exit and ending up on a dirt and taking them miles off course. BoP was the car driving on fumes trying to get to a phone or a gas station. SFBM was the car running out of gas in Death Valley.

Ed decided to walk. Alive is him still walking. CCP called AAA, which was TGF, and got a ride home.

Next step, tow Live to the gas station, fill it up, and get back on the highway.

Maybe at some point they will see Ed still walking and pick him up.

V was a try of something. sometimes it was way out of the rails but anyway. BOP well it's a generic rock record for the most part, even if I love Like I do. I enjoy more listening to V than BOP, of course after skipping Call me a fool and OK?)

V wins.

At least BOP was an attempt to return to the sound we all loved. I take that album in a landslide. Plus the tour was great, the keyboards were gone and their live sound had much more of an edge to it again. I'll refer to a comment I made on the rating all the albums thread for my take on V.

"6. V- Deep Enough is listenable and Simple Creed is tolerable, the rest of it I would play to torture terrorists in our custody".

i vote for V. It got good songs but its really over produced. BoP is good for people who looking for old tunes. If V got old style rock n roll tunes, it can be one of the best for Live. BoP got melodic noises but songs arent strong like V's when we look all songs average

After thinking some more about it, I'm gonna go with V over BOP. BOP had the 2 best songs of the lot (LID and Lighthouse). But for the most part it feels like an album void of feeling or emotion. V at least envokes something in me, makes me feel something even with a few stinkers in there. As I've said before it might be more of the emotional attachment to it. Even though I know BOP was "a step in the right direction" because we certainly didn't need V2, a lot of the songs just seem sort of empty, so I'm gonna go with V here simpley because it makes me feel something.
