Alright - after listening to this I'd say he obviously sounds different from Ed (who wouldn't) but I definatly think he has a similar style voice and can probably hit Ed's notes.

If he is the new voice of Live I'm pretty excited about the new album. I don't think it will be a huge change vocally.

I can see Chris as a logical option, he has many ties to Live, Blind Melon toured with Live way back in the day and fellow band mate Christopher Thorn played with Live.

Interesting, can't wait to hear the new material.

Is that girl in any way shape or form connected or "in the know"? Seems like a strange thing to say if she isn't. Although that name has been thrown about before hasn't it? Perhaps she picked it up here or something and took it as gospel?

I actually don't think that his voice sounds that great. and he sounds very little like Ed(who has a very distinct voice). If its true, new LIVE will be a huge change lyrically and vocally.

2 Things:

1. Why don't you quote the whole thing because I don't see it anywhere.

2. Nick - were you recommending names under you wife's facebook account? You must have closet excitement and it's driving you nuts that you painted yourself into a corner! lol.gif

You wouldn't.

In that clip though it's hard to judge, I don't know when that song is from, but he has a very young sounding voice, not mature or something. But when I first heard KM was going to front TGF and went and checked out some Candblebox I wasn't super impressed. But he fit like a hand into a custom made glove when I heard the album. So even if this new singer is announced and I check out their other work and it doesn't do wonders for me, I'm still going to reserve judgement until I hear them sing with CCP because it's silly to judge otherwise.

I think no matter what it's going to be different, Ed has a very distinctive voice and no matter who sings it will not sound the same. I think people need to prepare for that and either get over the fact and try to move on, whether thats moving on by actually liking it and getting on board for the ride, or getting on by sticking with Ed and jumping off the ride *hint hint*

I'd be OK with Chris Shinn I think.

More than anything I just want some new music, whether it's LIVE, LIVE2.0 or TGF -- whatever.

I don't think Kevin Martin sounded similar to Candlebox when singing for TGF, so this guy can sound different too. I'm not waiting for an Ed clone. I hope the guy is gonna bring something personal to the songs we already know and to the forthcoming tracks.

Wait and see.

No I actually had my wife post those names because I thought they were good. There was no way they were going to give us the prize!

LIVE have since removed the post. I wonder who leaked the info out? In the age of the internet it is nearly impossible to keep a secret.
