Anybody here use Linux rather than Windows? Or got an opinion on the best distro for a fairly advanced PC user that's new to Linux? OR even of the opinion 'no child, stick to XP!' I'm pretty good with computers - sort of nerd status rather than geek... I'm okay with most stuff (building websites, messing about in the registry without making my computer unusable) though when it comes to DOS I need the instructions to be written down or I'm b*ggered.

santa brought me a g4 for xmas. all i have to say is.. OSX... granted my hubby could probably give you a 5 hour disertation on the various forms of Linux and Bsd and the positives and negatives involved with each etc. Personally though I think redhat is a bit more user friendly and let DOS required from the hours and hours of disertation of sat through with my hubby and his friends.
