What songs would you like to hear them cover?

I'd go with In the Air Tonight and Comfortably Numb.

I would want the ones they've already done that I really liked on an album.

Supernatural
I Walk The Line
Love My Way
God Don't Never Change

(I've never liked any version of the song Imagine)

I remember they had online radio stations that you used to could listen to where they would play there favorite songs, songs that influenced them, etc.

One song was by the band The The called "Love is stronger than Death". That would be a cool one for them to cover.

As much as I love LIVE, any attempt at Comfortably Numb would be an utter failure. Gilmour's solo is one of the top five of all time and I'm pretty sure Taylor couldn't pull it off.

Rush is one of my all time favs and Geddy Lee's voice is as dynamic as it gets. If Ed ever attempted the high vocals on Tom Sawyer, let alone any Rush song, I fear that his horrific falsetto would sneak in there causing my ears to bleed relentlessly.

I'm surprised this topic hasn't been more active........

I think it would be cool if they covered a Peter Gabriel song. Digging in the Dirt maybe......

I always thought LIVE would be perfect for "In the Air Tonight." I also like the suggestion of "Bullet the Blue Sky."

How about Filter's "Hey Man Nice Shot" and Fuel's "Hemorrhage."

Totally agree with this!

I always thought a cover album would have been Live's best chance at making an impact again. They do covers so well, changing then enough so theyre not useless carbon copies. The song writing in Live had gone to shit so may as well borrow great established songs.

So the gentle art of making enemies by FNM I'd pick or possible Ashes to Ashes also by FNM. Also songs I think they'd be well suited to:

Eskimo Joe - Seven Veils.
Paul McCartney and Wings - Band On The Run
The Whitlams - No Aphrodisiac
Floor 13 - Blame it on me
Grant Lee Buffalo - Dixie Drug Store
Black Sabbath - Evil Woman Don't You Play Your Games With Me
Concrete Blonde - God is a bullet
Elvis Costello - Pump It Up
Jethro Tull - Aqualung or Song for Jeffery

Those are just some randoms that came to my hit that I think Ed's voice could potentially suit and that the band could make wicked arrangements of.

I think the tracks LIVE has covered down the years have always shown just how creative these guys really are - I include Ed in that.

If there was a studio recorded covers album by LIVE, here's a track wishlist:

1. Heart Shaped Box - Nirvana
2. Imagine - John Lennon
3. All Along the Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix
4. Orange Crush - R.E.M.
5. Crying Time - TGF
6. Love My Way - Psychedelic Furrs
7. Nothing Else Matters - Metallica
8. The Zephyr Song - RHCP
9. Seven Nation Army - White Stripes (wouldn't mind hearing a TGF cover of this as well!)
10. Like A Stone - Audioslave
11. Charlie Big Potato - Skunk Anansie
12. Zombie - Cranberries
13. Running to a Stand Still - U2

I know some of these have been covered by LIVE already, but I'd really like to hear a studio take all the same. I haven't included 'I Walk the Line' 'cause that was on Awake, but I'd still put it on the album!

Edit: 14. Supernatural - Vic Chesnutt

Perhaps. I watched a Gilmour concert the other day and was sad because the DVR cut off literally in the middle of that solo.

I have, not a fan. Not a big FF either. I liked Ween's cover although there are no studio versions of it.
