Here's an update from Chad on his surgery and recovery time.

Get well soon!!!

QUOTE
Chad Taylor Ladies and Gents: As many of you know, I suffered a severed quad tendon after jumping off the stage in Chicago a few weeks ago. Thankfully, The Gracious Few were able to complete an amazing 25,000 mile tour; all thanks to the hard work of an incredible group of men and women and our sponsor, Untamed Industries. Capit...al/EMI has been crushing the single...we're tracking to be top 10 by Christmas!! (fingers crossed).

I had my proceeder yesterday. The quad surgery went very well. What should have taken just over an hour, turned into two and a half hours. It turns out that after my MRI, (sometime after our Thanksgiving break) I suffered additional tears of both the Lateral & Medial collateral ligaments. Lucky for me, I somehow managed to avoid a total collapse of the knee joint as there wasn't much holding things together.

I'm managing the pain at home with the girls (for a traveling musician this equals Heaven). I won't be able to begin rehab until 6 weeks from now. The timeline is still the same. I will need 4-6 months of pretty serious rehab but should be able to do my "workouts" once a supervised routine is established. The truth is I just need time to heal.

The doctor assured me that I will return to my previous 46" vertical leaping ability and should be power dunking before the end of the season. Count me in for the playoffs. (Yep. I'm on painkillers.)

I'll keep you in the loop as I progress and THANK YOU for all of your incredible support over the last five weeks. Your humble, if not hobbled guitarist and friend, Chad Taylor

Oof, that is quite tough. I bet the docs in US are good and Chad will be in shape pretty soon!

Not sure what's coming of that. I am sure they are planning accordingly to what he can and can't do. If he can't begin rehabbing for 6 weeks, that means he's layed up for a while. Kinda of sucks, but I know what he's going through....I had huge knee reconstruction 20 yrs ago. CT's mentioning of the MCL & LCL ligament tears are what causes this extra time off his feet too, not just the tear of the quad muscle and that repair. The knee ligaments will pretty much heal at their own pace. If he's allowed to start rehabbing and travel, he and the band will most likely go. THis is only my opinion but look for them to give information on that once they figure it out. He's got some big time muscle rebuilding to do. I wish him well and success with that.
