hi all,

I recorded the WDR Rockpalast (from Cologne) last night with my computer, but need some help on converting/splitting it to MPEG and/or DVD. I don't wanna spend hours on looking for the right software, so maybe an experienced user could offer some help? It would be great to share the performance somewhere...

Hi...I'd suggest M2-edit from MediaWare Solutions. You can split and cut MPEG and MPEG2 where you want. It's a trial version though, you can only cut 30 secs or something like that. If you wanna get the full version, there are many possibilities rolleyes.gif

Hi there (also) from Holland,

A good program to work with is also "DVDSanta" --> it converts MPEG to DVD-format; also other possibilities are possible.
What kind of format did you record ?
If you need any help I am willing to do so.
I am also intersted in havingf the recorded files (i made a huge mistake in programming my DVD recorder, so I missed it all.

Give me a reply and we can work it out.

I've got it in DVRMS (Windows Media Center format). I'm currently looking for a nice tool to convert to MPG, the rest shouldn't be much of a problem. Any thoughts on this?

BTW: some people have PM'ed me with help, I'll get back to you later!

This is a stupid question, but say you downloaded this, how do you get it onto a CD and play it in a DVD player .. I have a DVD burner on the comp here, but I've never actually downloaded and burnt a CD .. is it the same as dropping audio files into Nero except now you drop them onto the DVD part or ..?

You actually burn the show to a DVD disc. It's 4.1 gigabytes big smile.gif
All you do is select "DVD-Video" in Nero and copy the contents of the VIDEO_TS folder that you've downloaded into the VIDEO_TS folder on your DVD and then you'll be able to play it on a DVD player.

If you have Nero's Power Producer (which is sometimes bundled with DVD Drives when you buy one), it can convert too, and you can even customize the menus.

cool cool, yeah I figured the DVD disc would help tongue.gif

I might give this a go downloading and if I get stuck then I can bring this thread back up and hassle everyone until I get it done.
