QUOTE(donno @ Aug 3 2010, 1:35 pm) *

That wasn't fair of me to put words in your mouth, but that is definitely the impression we get from u on these boards, as you're prob aware. I assumed, and we know what happens when people assume!! My bad.

Thanks for the well wishes on the Oxy, I did have to start taking less of it. That stuff is way to much for me. It changed my personality for the worse and had me confused when I was taking it every 4 hours. I don't know how people can function on Oxy...or even worse, drink and take those pills for recreation. Don't get me wrong, I'm no angel. I've been friends w/ Mary Jane for many many years and did all the normal things growing up, but meds are nothing to play with.

I lasted only a couple days on Oxy. The doc moved me down to 3 advils shortly after my shoulder surgery. I can't believe that doctor's prescribe Oxy without major warnings attached.

Doctors doesn't have an apostrophe. All prescriptions have side effects, and all prescriptions come with information. You don't move "down" to Ibuprofen after being on Oxycodone. The two are completely different drugs. From a side effect and safety standpoint, I would rather take an appropriate dose of Oxycodone than 600mg Ibuprofen. You shouldn't be surprised by anything a doctor does, because you have zero training to be a medical doctor and therefore have no capacity to critique his or her work.

600 Ibuprofen stopped me from getting deathly ill. Oxy basically did not allow me to hold down food or water. I've had other friends face the same issues with the drug.

Just because I have zero medical training, does not mean that I can't think that doctors sometimes prescribe and overprescribe medications that certain patients have no business taking.

Sure, if you had some kind of adverse reaction to the oxycodone, then you should have stopped it. However, you should never generalize the experience of one patient to an entire population, nor should you use your experience with one patient to dictate your prescribing practices or comment on prescribing practices of board certified physicians.

What you probably don't know is the absurdly bad side effects of ibuprofen. If you take 600mg of it on a schedule for a few days, the damage done to your GI tract is enormous. You may or may not experience symptoms of this damage but eventually it will catch up with you. Oxycodone is a far superior choice as an analgesic if used properly, and I don't expect you to know that because you've never taken psychopharmacology or any pharmacology at all at an accredited medical school let alone a respectable university. You are obviously free to think whatever you want, but so is a 4 year old who thinks they know everything about the world.

Holy shit... I agree with Ex on something.

I've never taken pharmacology or anything similar but I research side effects on any drugs I may take. Oxy is generally better, and my experiences seem to agree.

I love tripping on shrooms at night in the woods with good friends and a nice fire.

I'd be interested in hearing about your experiences. I've never taken any illicit drugs so it would be all new to me.

I've a few stories to tell. They will take awhile to chronicle, but I don't mind speaking of them. Don't expect anything in the next day...but I will gladly share my experiences. Good or bad, they're all worth mentioning.

You talking to me? I would have been there right there with ya haha. Thankfully I have left the majority of it behind me without any residual effects. I'm quite content now with my booze and Mary Jane and the "4 time a year shrooms" rule. That is it. The coca crack crab crank heroins and all that is history , oh that and cigarettes (4months of no smokes im proud)

swami you coming to the TO show???

Never tried any drugs, and mostly probably won't do. Though, saying that, I'm interested in trying weed at some point.

Oddly...

I have tried a couple "legal highs" and found I enjoy DXM on occasion. Whereas I have no interest in weed though I wouldn't oppose legalization.
