Scary stuff. Due to overheating the woods started burning again and now thousands of people have nothing but their socks and pants on left. 21 century. Here you go.

There are parts of the country here, especially the West Coast with California in particular, where these kind of blazes are unfortunately a semi-regular event.

It's both horrifying and more than a bit eerie to see towns that you've visited burning on television because the fires reached the area.

I hope they were able to evacuate most of the populace in the area, Ed. It's a terrible thing to lose all like that.

Those poor people. Bloody horrifying sad.gif How is it now?

We lived thru the Black Sat fires here. My neighbours directly across died and only 4 homes left on our road. It was like how I imagined war to be. We lost friends, my kids lost school friends. Our friends lost 2 of their children and her brother who was looking after the kids. My husband found the bodies of a family the day after. No words can describe it. He will never get over that.

We also had a fire behind our property for about a week afterwards but they were able to keep it contained. If we left our place we had to get back in on foot because of road blocks by army and police. We kept the 4 wheelers hidden in the bush. Bloody helicopters going back and forth day and night drove us mental. Used up all the water in our dams. Our road is still closed to anyone but residents 18 months after.
