Review solocd Alive Ed Kowalczyk
June 30, 2010

I'm still a fan of Ed Kowalczyk. Today there is quite some courage to be here honestly to arrive. By a lesser number of plates, the waning popularity of Live, but I thought they Songs From Black Mountain was back on track. But when the bomb dropped in Live and Ed Kowalczyk had done it. But when I see how long Ed Kowalczyk releases for his fans I'm sure this man is not for the money as his former bandmates claim.

Passionate rock album

Also the first solo album Alive Ed Kowalzcyk splash off of the passion again. I must admit that during my first listen, especially the first five songs were very strong, but now I enjoy a lot of the other six songs. Only In Your Light I continue to take some effort. So sweet that the enamel of your teeth almost jumps. In the song thank Ed Kowalczyk someone for his children and in the case of Kowalzcyk could well be that God can be.

Drive opener sets the right tone musical although it is textually a niemendalletje. Big Ed is asleep and someone else take the wheel. Undoubtedly this is a deeper meaning behind. The Great Beyond makes you love pervades the highway and "Grace is just a nice throbbing rock song. Ed Kowalczyk sings Stand on him as we've heard. Rather than pop rock.

Harder songs

And then it's time for more difficult songs. The modest, slightly distorted and gospel-like Zion, breakpoint in Your Light and Just in time where he feels liberated from the shackles that had become live. Ed Kowalczyk is on his solocd Alive with little else than his previous band and we can be grateful for that. For it is he is still enjoying the catchy rock god and we have nowadays not so much anymore.

That sums it up so nicely.
