1st off...if TGF or ED thinks I am going to take sides and choose one or the other ...they r Fking crazy....this is the best thing that could have happened to this band and as a fan of the "whole" band..I am not going to choose sides...I am going to enjoy the 2(bands) going at each other for how ever long it lasts, and I say "they will bring us some great music"...listen to what we have heard so far....awesome..sorry guys...now lets buy some tickets!

It's only great for fans if they dig the sound of both new bands. If they don't dig for old classic rock feel of TGF or the rocky lounge type act Ed is doing, then they're screwed. If they do like both however, then yes.

I think it just sucks to see Live go out this way. Sure, TGF will put out some good tunes and Ed will release something decent but it just would've been nice to see Live be put to rest on good terms. I know there's always a chance for Live to get back together but bands just say that shit to make the fans feel better until they get over it so I don't see it happening.

It just felt like for so long we were waiting/hoping for that album that was going to remind us of 90's Live and it's probably not gonna happen.

But shit happens.

It's not going to happen......so let's just see what happens. They'll probably just release one album each and then fade into distance like a memory.

Even if LIVE get back together....there's too much bad blood for it ever to be the same again. And that will suck more than them doing seperate albums.

So let's see.

I can see Ed sticking around, putting an album every few years, particularly if he goes the acoustic route. CC&P, perhaps less so, since bands tend to need lead singers more than lead singers need bands, if you catch my drift.

you may be right on that score. This new blog that reckons SA touring has me slightly more motivated than I was yesterday, though I'm still not holding my breath.

reading some discussion on eds fb page asking why the split. This one takes the cake. Guess people see things way differently when they're hanging on Ed's schlong in light of th reason the band gave.

Erik Pleuss I think that the other guys are being a bunch of babies. They rode on Ed's back for a long time and he made them very succesful. They are a great band and they deserve credit, but Ed was the force that propelled them. I think that Live's biggest mistake was getting rid of Michael(?) Railo on keyboards after the "The Distance to Here" tour. I do not know if that was a band decision or if it was Ed alone, but I felt like they lost something so special. Also, their next record "V" was a fucking disaster, except for the three songs that were written for "The Distance to Here" . Anyway, "Songs From Black Mountain" is an awesome album lyrically. Ed's vocals were amazing but the band seemed to have just phoned it in. Anyway..Peace Love Truth and Light to all
April 27 at 10:52pm · Report

This Erik guy needs to brush up on his Live history. Railo did not leave after The Distance To Here tour. He remained with the band during the recording of V and subsequent tour. In fact Railo was a major contributor to the sound of V that Erik seems to despise so much.

I'd be interested to know which 3 tracks from V he thinks were written for TDTH...
