Hey Ya'll

I have been listening to this band for a whie called Matisyahu. They are a really great reggae band. Live at Stubbs is a great album. I don't like their latest Youth as much. I met him at a meet and greet the other night and he is Orthodox Jewish so I couldn't shake his hand or anything. And the girls had to cover up. It was like meeting the king lol.gif

Anyhow I was just wondering if anyone likes this band. Their radio hit King Without a Crown.

I'm Jamaican and their music just sounds fake and utterly ridiculous to me urgh! Like they are trying too much. Then on the other hand, I sing like Delores from the Cranberries so go figure! whistling.gif

Matisyahu isn't a band, it's one guy.


He fucking rocks. If you don't think so, you can't call yourself a fan of reggae.

Also, Matis isn't orthodox. He's Hasidic.

Ok don't jump on my shit here but I just don't get what the big deal is about this guy. I mean he mixes some musical styles together and has a gimmick and all of the sudden he's the greatest thing to hit the music scene in years.

I've heard his stuff and it's not groundbreaking or earth shattering or anything close. I don't get it, but I feel that way about most music these days. More power to those of you that are digging it. I'm glad some of you can find something to listen to that you really love. I'm having a real hard time with that lately without going back to listen to my older cds.

I definately like him...thinking about going to pick up his CD. He has sang with P.O.D too which I thought was pretty cool.

And yes he is Hasidic not Orthadox.
