Some Night of the Proms facts I came across...

- "Just met the arranger for the Night At The Proms orchestra. 80 pieces of strings, woodwinds and brass on I Alone, thats gonna be fun." - Chad Taylor at his Twitter site

- The Nights of the Proms site of Belgium is linking to the acoustic/piano video of They Stood up for Love. So I guess we can count at at least IA and TSUFL.

- Ed said recently he's a big fan of Sinnead OÇonner and is trying to do a duet with her (don't now if that's going to happen?). Don't remember were I read that, I think it was on the Dutch board

All sounds good. Isn't Sinnead O'Conner that crazy girl though, who ripped up a picture of the Pope. Or am I thinking of someone else?

That's her but I detest people saying she is crazy... everyone else is crazy for trying to silence her free speech. I've seen that performance and it took balls to do that; I'm pretty sure she received thousands of death threats from religious nuts out there.

If anyone is like wtf are these idiots yabbing on about here is the clip

Famous SNL incident

I dunno if she's crazy, but she certainly isn't the most level headed person, regardless, she has a great voice.

And seriously, of course TSUFL and I Alone will be included, they are most likely not going the change the set list much at all ... hell I don't think they ever will.

I called her crazy as that what I've heard other people say when they've been talking about her. I have no personal opinion.

haha what do you mean, not changing the setlist? I was wondering bout which songs will be played, because (ofcourse) there won't be a real setlist, just a few songs. Don't count on more than 4 songs.

Next songs I think could fit a classic orchestra: Lightning Crashes, I Alone, TSUFL, Run to the Water, Overcome, Heaven, Lakini's Juice and Turn my Head and maybe a few others.

btw Sinnead O'Connor's voice in Troy is really brilliant!

I'm guessing they'll play Mystery seeing as how that has strings on it anyways.
I can honestly see them trying to make an orchestra work with the songs they already play rather than choosing songs that would be fit an orchestra..

yeah, that's what I meant, but I mean: if they play only a few songs there's still much choice as they can play 30 diff songs nowaydays. Mystery would fit also indeed. But theý haven't played it for a while now.

Just remember how tremendous LJ would be. I can do without any other song with an orchestra but LJ bounce.gif

I was just checking out some of the pics over at the NOTP website.

Take a look at the massive screen they're using!

I dunno about Forever played live normally... but I could honestly see it with the strings at Night of the Proms. Thoughts?

They have it listed on their website as their new single, so I don't see why they wouldn't play it.

I meant I think it would suck. There are no guitars or bass... it would be another Overcome.

I like the song though, don't get me wrong.

yeah but i don't think that says anything. Night of the Proms is most of the times about the classic feeling and playing the good old songs of a band, not really a promoting thing for yourself. By that, I doubt if Forever is already well known by the audience by the time the first shows start.
