Someone who attended the Kansas City show last night said that Railo was back. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

There are multiple reports over at SOY. What does everybody think about having Railo back?

Won't this increase their musical creativity? So...it's a good thing?

I met Railo a couple years back when he was playing with Dave W and English Beat.

Not sure if this is a good thing. Right before EB was to take the stage, there was a PA announcement asking Michael Railton to please get back stage. LOL....

He was super nice and funny...just a bit outta it.

Well .. fuck. I think Michael Railton only works on songs that had a keyboard or him in mind. For instance most things on TDTH, I guess some of V and probably a bit of SFBM. However whenever they play stuff from MJ, TC or SS he should leave the stage, it just doesn't work and butchers songs. Like in a version of Lightning Crashes Ed says something like "This is Michael Railton and he's going to bust out a really rockin' piano solo because this song really needs it", and I'm thinking ... "No it doesn't".

They played the Distance in Kansas City last night, so that's a positive for Railo.

Definitely, his keyboard is great in the distance, adds a nice bit of funk to it. But like I say, just keep him away from songs like Iris and Shit Towne, they don't need him pussifying them up.

Could you be talking about the version of The Distance off Radiant Sea? He introduces Michael Railton and asks him to basically give him a funky beat during "Hold out for something sweeter"

Starts at 5:40 on the album version and I think it is really good... and I don't even like The Distance. It makes this version and I would not mind if he came in for the new album.

I saw a picture of Railo on stage last night in Kansas City. Let's see if she shows up tonight. Does the guy live in KC and maybe just pulled a surprise visit or tryout?

Then again, maybe the band is releasing a song from the TDTH/V era on the CD/DVD as their new single, and they'll need Railo to pull it off in concert.

Why the hell would they release an old song off of an old album from years ago as a new single? That makes absolutely no sense from any perspective unless it's an unreleased song that they are bringing out of the "Unreleased Library".

Nope, I was reffering to a version of Lightning Crashes, not The Distance. I thought about it some more, I think he calls it a really "bitchin'" piano part or something. Basically a really pissy piano solo in the middle of Lightning Crashes and ruins it.

But like I say, what he adds to The Distance is great.

yeah I think you're right, I remember that from one of the LC live recordings.

Well at least Railo didn't return before the dvd shoot, so that's okee I guess cool.gif
But i can live with the fact Railo returned, only if he don't play all the songs. Some songs on the TDTH tour and the V tour where just ruined by his additions no.gif
