Good album catchy tunes.

Why can't Live work something up like this?

I've heard the first single, it is far from catchy. I like some of the band's earlier work, though. I just the new single is about 10 steps back from that.

The song you are referring to is "Violet Hill" which is by far the worst song on the album so I agree with you here.

By the way, since when did Live release a quality single? nervous.gif And don't fucking say they did and it was the label's fault that Live sucks now. hahaha

Heaven was a very high quality single, imho.

Not the best song but sure it was a decent Hot AC single for 45 year old moms.

Heaven was a great single choice and a very good song.

The worst choices for singles by Live were: White Discussion over Iris, Freaks over Rattlesnake, and We Deal in Dreams over a lot of other things. Also, while I like the re-recorded version of Run Away, it probably would have been cheaper to release Sweet Release in the states as the second single from BOP.

I think this thread is becoming on-topic.

well let's make it off-topic again (and on-topic in terms of Coldplay).

I've liked a few songs from the band in the past, but haven't enjoyed all of their stuff.

I have heard 3 songs off the new album now, and I think they are all ver, very good. Coldplay did a good thing with breaking with the same style over and over again (on 3 albums).

The songs are titled: Violet Hill, Viva La Vida and Lost.

Have been a huge fan in 2000-2005. After X&Y gave them up. This album did not get me back into them.Still adore first two recordings which I rank among my fave ever.

I'm sorry, but I cannot abide Coldplay. Monotonous, maudlin, plagiarising bastards. Who did they rip off on this album, seeing as the for last three they shamelessly buttraped Jeff Buckley, U2 and Radiohead respectively and in that order.

I'd rather, oh I don't know, listen to Creed and Nickelback's entire back catalogs at full volume for a solid month or pull my own tibias out through the soles of my feet with only the aid of a rusty pair of secateurs.

And don't give me your moral relativism. Just because Live haven't made a decent album in the last decade doesn't mean Coldplay are any good either. Hitting commercial paydirt doesn't mean your music has any worth above pushing the buttons of the lowest common denominator of society.

I think Coldplay are a good band. No, not the greatest most groundbreaking band in the world. But definitely not on the level of suck that Creed and Nickelback are.

Dude, we are Live fans. I don't think we should be calling anyone gay for liking other bands. Unless, of course, we're talking about Nick's addition to SFBM. laugh.gif
