What does "Hot Topic" even mean?? The little folder Icon is red... but sometimes even 5 pages back it is still red for no reason. Why is that?

Man I am a noob... please let someone else know what I am talking about.

Topics become hot when they recieve so many replies. I think on here it's 20+ replies, and it becomes a "hot topic". It just means it's a popular thread.
