According to the new Digital Homespun on friendsoflive...SFBM will be released on standard CD and also Dual Disc CD/DVD with bonus video/audio...pretty cool. So far I really like Epic...I can't ever imagine the former label making this available.

Here is the quote...
"Songs From Black Mountain will be released in 2 formats!
The album will be released in regular CD format, but will also be released in a Dual-Disc format. The Dual-Disc format version will feature interviews and acoustic performance
footage when you flip it over to the other side!"

That sounds promising. I hope they use some of the old material for acoustic videos.

Cool, I guess. The Birds of Pray extras were nice little nuggets.

They might also consider a third disc that contains the "guitars up" version of every track on Songs from Black Mountain. Then, a fourth disc can contain the "Remember, we still have a bassist" version of the album.

Also, a full band version of Overcome and a 13-minute extended jam on Deeper. Then, some gospel. Seriously.

I don't get why Epic doesn't just release it in dual-format and get it overwith.

Patrick finally has his own smiley, ah?

anyway, this actually sounds cool. I know there are a lot of the older fans who didn't like the new songs as much, this will give them more reason to look forward to SFBM.

I bet these acoustic performances will be from the Secret Show last year in Holland for the Awake tour. The songs are currently on ITUNES and they are acoustic versions of The Dolphin's Cry, I Alone, and Lightning Crashes. It makes sense that this was not only a recorded performance, but filmed as well.

A lot of recently released albums have been released in dualdisc format.

Also, that post from swamiscott up there was pretty funny.
