Just looking for fellow fans attending the Chicago show on Oct. 5th. I have not attended any shows from this tour. I am not a Collective Soul fan, but a die hard LIVE fan!! It looks like the set list will be great!

I'll be there with some friends Mindy.
I'm a big Red Sox fan and the game is on during the show so I think I'll go to a bar and watch it then have my friends text me when Live is coming on.
I've seen Collective Soul before and Emerson Hart with Tonic twice so I don't mind missing them.
Of course I could just skip the concert entirely because I've seen Live 15 times but that ain't gonna happen. tongue2.gif
I've seen Live at Congress before and it's a good place.

There is talk of a new album again. Since there aren't any new tour dates maybe they will work on the new album in the coming months!?

I'm pretty sure the band will be taking a hiatus after Vegas. After recharging their batteries, they will hopefully they start work on a new album. Some tour dates early next year would be nice as well. Here is the article:
Live talkin'

Despite all the success Pennsylvania band Live has seen over the years, the band has not forgotten its roots.

Twenty-two years after first playing together in middle school in the summer of 1985, the chemistry between the four members of Live remains strong.

Frontman Ed Kowalczyk talked about what has kept the band together and its current activities.

So I see the band is selling a new CD (“Radiant Sea”) through your online store and at shows. The CD has 10 live songs and two new songs. This is the first time you have released live tracks, correct?

There’s been a lot of live things that have made it on B-sides or different things that were never really collected on one CD. I still don’t think this is our official live record because it’s really bootlegs in the sense that a lot of the recordings are unique because they are from different venues and recordings. Some of them are just mics thrown up in the room or some of them are from the board, live right to the mixing console. So it’s not really what I would call a professional live album. But it’s a really neat sort of eclectic little record.

You guys have been touring a lot, including playing in South Africa last year. How was that experience?

It was great. It was our third time to South Africa. I’ve always been blown away by the reception we get. The fans know every song, not just the hits on the radio.

You guys have been playing together since you were 13. What brought you together?

Our jazz instructor in school told Chad Taylor (guitarist), Patrick Dahlheimer (bassist) and Chad Gracey (drummer) that they should get together on the weekends and put a band together. They learned a couple of instrumental songs, and entered a talent show in our middle school. And that’s where I saw them. I kind of hijacked a practice about a week later and asked basically, “You guys need a singer?” and started singing. It’s been the same band ever since we were 13.

You guys have survived a lot of changing musical tastes. What do you think has made the band endure?

People have been able to grow with the songs and not get tired of them. That’s a huge part of it. I think a lot of it is because we didn’t follow a trend. The music has always come from a natural place in ourselves. People still want to hear these songs. A lot of people say that songs like “Lightning Crashes” mean more to them now that they have kids. It’s still new and feels exciting to people.

Your last studio album, “Songs from Black Mountain,” was released by Epic Records in 2006. Are you working on a new album?

Not currently. I typically don’t work much on the road. We will start to really get more serious about some sort of release early next year.

What continues to be the thrill for you being on stage?

For me, it’s the fans and the experience of performing these really intimate, personal songs of mine for people and having it resonate with them. That remains the inspirational factor for me, how the music has sort of brought me closer to humanity. I just feel that is sort of a miraculous thing.
