The Dolphin's Cry was recently performed on Canadian Idol by a guy called Brian Melo.

Brian Melo sang Live's "The Dolphin's Cry," which is quite possibly the worst song title in the history of music. I'm convinced that Melo dropped his trademark goatee in order to copy Live frontman Ed Kowalczyk's stubble.

Melo was unremarkable until the chorus kicked in. When the guitarist stepped forward to rock out with the singer, things promptly went to hell. Melo's performance was squarely in high school battle of the bands territory.

So this is what it feels like when dolphins cry.

"You're Melo-dramatic," proclaimed Flex.

"You kicked the shit out of that," profaned Werner.

Who wrote that. There are plenty of worse song titles than that!

A personal favorite title of mine though is "The Pope Smokes Dope"

Yup that guy was terrible. He reminds me of a mime how he is dressed... The second guy sounds pretty good though.

Anyone else find it humorous that the show is sponsored by a company that makes refried beans? happy.gif

lol some guy just sang the same song on australian idol and was pretty sub-par as well. Its a tough one, i think even ed ruins it in concert most of the time.

the judges said it is an extremely ambitious song.

Apparently the "rose" is gonna rise up to meet him too, it's also a "wastest time" I hear..

This whole clip is just hilariously bad, for some reason the whole foot on the amp at the start is so pretenious, generally you need to have charisma/presence or something to pull off the whole "looking cool at the mic" thing, this guy has about as much charisma as Nathan Buckley (there's ones for the afl fans!). Also the guitarist and his hardcore rock out .. that was beautiful!
