Any Potter fans on the board. Anyone pre-order the book or going to the movie next week? I can't wait for the movie because book 5 was my favorite(it was most like Star Wars with the big confrontation at the end) and have been waiting for the book for over a year. I just don't want the ending spoiled before I finish it. I have a feeling its going to be tough.

I'm a total dork, but I'm sure there must be others. smile.gif

I quite enjoy the movies .. not the first one though that was just too kidsy for me, but the later ones are cool, I struggle with reading any book so I haven't read them. Looking forward to the next movie.

However I'm not a dork though, you are tongue.gif

I just hope the movie does the climatic fight between Dumbledore and Voldemort justice. The reviews, so far, are shakey regarding the movie, but I heard universal praise for the end battles. I'm really excited to see how it all transpires.

You know what I hate. Being on a bus or train and seeing somebody in their thirties in a business suit, reading a fucking Harry Potter book. At that age you should be keeping such reading material in your bedroom, hidden away in shame.

^lol.gif I must say I agree with you. Then again, I was never a fan of fantasy movies.

I'm not a big fan of fantasy reading in general, but Harry Potter books are very well-written. I'd say they are better than most "adult" books out there. Even Stephen King is a huge fan, and he writes some of the best stories around(he writes some awful things too, but still).

Not saying they are for everyone, but I think they should be given a try.

I will be 34 in August and I've read all the Harry Potter books and seen the movies on the week they arrived in theaters. I love them. So, yes Nick...I'm a fan and I'll be reading the new book when it comes out and seeing the movie hopefully on the day it comes out. Oh...one difference...I will not be wearing a business suit. I probably never will!! lol.gif

The fifth book was my least favorite so hopefully I'll like the movie better. innocent.gif

A lot of people found it to be their least favorite. What didn't you like about it? I liked it best because it was the one book that kept me guessing and I loved that they finally let Dumbledore kick some butt.

Book 6 was my least favorite, because I found it to be more of a build to the final installment. Also because it ended on a huge downer cry.gif

I see your point...6 was a downer, but I couldn't put it down. I had to see what happened next.

Book 5 kept making me angry because it seemed like everyone was always on Harry's case. He just kept getting picked on the whole time...like he couldn't do anything right. I should probably read it again. It's been a long time.

Harry was being a jerk for most of book 5. You probably should read it again after the movie.

The movies, however, are not to bad.

Have you read the books? The movies suck in comparison. Once you read the books, you can appreciate the films much more.

I'll pass on the reading and stick to the video!

I checked out the movie last week and thought it was pretty good. I would recommend it to anyone who saw the previous movies.
