7:00am

The sun is rising and I'm working in the yard. The fresh smell of a new day is complemented by a slow cool breeze. Then it happens. With my ipod in my ears Live's - Get Ready plays. Having about a 18-24 month absence of playing Live everyday a feeling drives itself through me reminding me why I love these guys so much. I head back inside and continue to listen through their albums. Unbelievable that a band who your thought you had lost a connection with can bring it all back in an instant. Unlike other bands, Live's music seems to bring out all emotions. The most important being euphoria. Thanks guys, you pull me up wether I'm down, or at times even higher then I thought I could go.

Nice post.

I know what that feeling is like, but unfortunately that sensation hasn't come over me in over a year.

Great post! Thanks for sharing so eloquently what many of us feel on a regular basis.

Good post for sure! thumbsup.gif

I was listening to Songs From Black Mountain today and I had to smile while I realized that most of the songs touch me in some way with things that are going on in my own life right now....as most of their cd's/songs do. music.gif

I've gotten that same feeling so many times. Although SFBM is not my favorite album from Live, strangely I get that feeling most from SFBM. I walk the dog in the morning and listen to Love Shines or All I Need or You Are Not Alone and some kind of inspiration just hits me. I just say to myself: "That sonofabitch, Ed. He just put a smile on my face and a lightbulb went off in my head in the middle of some song on SFBM while walking my dog around that block!"

I do agree...that SFBM doesn't exactly "rock". I do prefer some of LIVE's other CD's than SFBM. It's just that I seem to relate to alot of what Ed is singing about on SFBM at this time in my life. smile.gif

Many, many bands I've loved in the past - loved as much as I do Live - just don't have the same ability to make me feel the songs in the pit of my stomach. Most bands I loved 10-15 years ago I'd actually rather make some vain attempt to chew my own head off than listen to again. I listen to certain bands and I actually can't connect with the part of me that once liked them to the point of me feeling angry and resentful towards them.

But Live... sometimes I take a break for months at a time, but when I come back to listening, the songs are absolutely pristine and beautiful and I remember in an instant everything I loved about them. Throwing Copper especially is absolutely timeless for me - I can listen to it now and it's as contemporary and fresh as many new albums. Even SFBM - I can forgive Ed's over inflated ego EVERYTHING because Night Of Nights makes the hair stand up on the bakc of my neck every time I hear it.

I feel the same way except for the SFBM part. lol.gif It always amazes me when I'm in the car and a song like Pain Lies comes on and it STILL stops me in my tracks. Hits me right upside the head and makes me remember why I loved Live for so many years. It never fails to put a smile on my face. I just wish their new music had that same affect on me. Oh well at least I'll always have the good stuff to listen to and enjoy.

I just listened to Peace Is Now (10,000 Years) in the car after reading some of Krishnamurti You Are The World this week and had another one of those "Ah Ha!" moments. I love that.
