Since I'm snowed in, I did some extra yahoo searches today and found some potentially juicy new. Check out that client list!

http://www.popcurrent.com/critics/greenmanmusic

Here is en excerpt:

Ken Eros is a freelance Producer/Engineer (specializing in world music, techno, electronica, and rock), session musician, stage performer, promotions director, live/studio pro audio consultant and troubleshooting expert who is primarily based out of Zircon Skye Production (www.zirconskye.com) in Ojai, California. Recent clients include Peter Murphy, Bauhaus, Bruce Botnick, Ed Kowalczyk (Live), Malcolm McDowell, Peter Strauss, Irene Beddard, The Electric Prunes, and GRAMMY® nominated recording artists Red Grammer (Children's) and Perla Batalla (Latin); the latter for whom he is also a part-time tour manager and live sound consultant.

Since it only says that Ed is a client and not LIVE, could this mean that Ed is in fact working on a solo album? What does everyone think?

Is that a site for a producer or just a studio? I don't see a producer's name anywhere. Seems weird though that Ed wouldn't have a studio already in his home. Why would he need to rent one?

Ah I see some producers names now. Interesting.

Hmm well Ed does live in Ojai so maybe he just uses that studio to lay down music that is going towards Live stuff. I know all of the guys work on the music seperately at first but it still seems odd that he wouldn't have his own studio for that sort of thing.

I think any sentence that contains "Ed Kowalczyk" and "producer" and "anyone other than Jim Wirt" is good.

haha lol.gif I agree Live (or Ed eh.gif ) really needs a new producer. But I don't think the thing you mentioned Nick is for a solo thing, cause Ed talked about an album no.8 at the end of last year. But maybe he is working (just like the the previous 2 or 3 albums) he is working at stuff that is later used by the whole group. And by that, do you know when he will work with that producer? Maybe it's not in the comin' time.

Btw, clickin' on the link that's named 'Ed Kowalczyk' also refers to FRIENDSOFLIVE, Live's site.

But yeah, all by all interesting news.

Its cool news, but I agree that there will be another +LIVE+ album and that Ed is just getting studio time to work on some stuff to bring to the table for the 8th album. Here's to 2007 being a "rebirth" of +LIVE+ everywhere and bringing more people to the sounds that we love. I've noticed several new people on here and that rocks I hope the trend continues.

Dare I say: HOAX?

Google for Zirconskye and Ken Eros and you'll see a lot of name dropping where Ed is mentioned too, also on older (2005) pages. I believe he uses Ed's name for promotion reasons. Maybe they worked together once, Ed or Live used their studio, or lend him some equipment.

I don't see how this tidbit means that Ed/Live will work with him as producer for new material.

I HIGHLY doubt that Ed is working with this guy right now on a solo album. They probably know each other in the Ojai music community. Maybe this guy helped Ed engineer the chorus of singing Ed's on every song on SFBM.

Nick, not that you want my opinion, but with all due respect, if you are going to captain this website, I think you should be more responsible and judicious before posting "HUGE NEWS" threads to start very tenuously supported rumors. I think it detracts from your other respectable posts about real breaking news that you discover through diligence and hard work researching.

I don't know. Unless someone has hardcore proof of the relationship Ed had with this guy, it is safe to believe that Ed is perhaps working with him for solo material. Obviously he did something and it seems odd that the dude's name never showed up in a record. I don't think anyone here would be shocked if Ed came out with a solo record even without Live breaking up.

Yeah, be interesting if Ed was to release some solo material. I wouldn't object.

However if you read the Thankyou notes on SFBM both Zircon skye and Ken Eros are mentioned and I would imagine that late 05 or early 06 would count as recent if you wanted to write up a notable customer for promotional purposes.
Perhaps Ed demoed SFBM there or on some of their equipment, that could also help to explain the mention on his website.
