Pat Monohan from Train to release a solo album, What if Ed decided to do the same? Options

Pat Monohan is going to release a solo album this year and follow it with a brief tour. He also says he will return to Train shortly thereafter. Since Train is my second favorite band, it got me to thinking what if Ed decided to do the same.

Since Epic seems to have forgotten Live and the band probably doesn't have a label for much longer, wouldn't this be the perfect time for him to do try it. Every front man seems to at least think about going out on their own, why would Ed be any different? It may freshen his outlook on song-writing and give the guys time to work on separate projects and maybe bring new perspectives to the band when they finally re-team for album 8.

I'd be for a solo effort by Ed, as long as it wouldn't mean the end of Live. What do you guys think?

I see what you're saying and it makes sense to me that he could do something like that. It wouldn't bother me a bit as long as he was still writing music and performing. I would prefer that he got back with the guys for Album 8 after his solo adventure though!

If ed wrote his own album it had better be the most funky piece ever, not like those solo albums that end up shittier than full band albums.

hmmm, I dunno.

IF he would do that, you can question wheter that will be successfull or not...cause the fans that Live support nowadays like them for the band LIVE, I think a few only for Ed. It could be good, but a solo album Ed will sound like SFBM without the three others guys, I think.
Personally I would like to see first an album no.8 to see if they can make a comeback as a band. And if that works, Ed can go solo

considering all the writing credit on the last couple of releases all go to Ed anyways I'd say he's already unofficially released some solo albums .. for a change I'd like LIVE to release an album.

I think in most cases when I a frontman decides to make a solo album it is because they want to express themselves artistically in a different way than they are able to with their band. I think Ed already has that freedom in Live so I don't really see any point to him doing a solo project.

I would love to hear a side project that would involve Taylor or Pat though.

I feel like this is inevitable at some point. It would be cool to see him play alot of Live songs accoustically if he toured solo.
