I get a phone call from my sister when I'm driving home from work:

"LISTEN TO THIS!"
"What is it? I can't hear, I'm driving"
"It's Live's new song ....on NOVA!"
"HAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Nova? HAHAHA"


So, the first time I heard The River on Australian radio was on fucking Nova - which prompted SMS's to all the Liveys on my phone laughing about it.
If you're getting played on Nova as a first resort... no. NO! That is not cool. Whatsoever.
It made me laugh and get sad all at the same time.

I got a message back from one of my mates that likes Live aswell (not from the boards or anything), and she says to me that she heard The River on MIX. HAHAHAHA HAAAAAHAHAHAHA oh god.

The first time I heard The River on the radio here in Montreal happened 2 nights ago on my drive home from work. It was on MIX 96. I was shocked because they NEVER play LIVE. I think I've heard Lightning crashes once, but even that was 3 years ago.

MIX 96 plays pretty popular music, rock/pop/r+b, and a lot of people listen to it, so I thought it was pretty cool that they chose to play The River. I called in to thank the DJ for playing it, and to play it more often!

i just read your post so i called my local nova station to request it and when i did the guy said "man that is an awesome choice" so obviousely i was shocked and i asked him if they had played it before and he said no. THEN he procdeded to lecture me on how 'those guys' made some really good albums back in the nineties then they became "christian" and anytime they mentioned heaven or daughter or god in a song they sucked and i wanted to interupt him but i didnt, and he said now he heard the river and he's glad that they're finally back to playing good music and he'll play it in the next hour for me.

The River has hit Dutch national radio really well, next week it's the "Alarmschijf" at Radio 538 which means it will be in hot rotation (played every 2 hours I think).

Meanwhile the video is picking up on Dutch music television MTV and TMF
