That's so cool. I've been looking through the poster's other video and he's got heaps of vocals or instrumentals only tracks. I wonder where they came from?

I just found his whole collection of files that he uploaded

https://mega.co.nz/#F!OxpC0CbD!DnEc...6MT1HZT0gfFd-Bw
https://mega.co.nz/#F!fpQU1AgB!LTd7...deRJrsLvwUi-KIQ

Hundreds of tracks.

I Alone and Lightning Crashes are included. Each individual track.

I am thinking he has a pretty expensive studio or audio program that he can make these. I really have no other explanation. Anybody know how an average joe could do this? It might be really easy but i am not a producer or musician, so.........

I've been doing a bit of research. Apparently they come from a MOGG (multitrack ogg) files.

Here is some info about it:
http://moggfiles.wordpress.com/

QUOTE
How are these .MOGG files created?

In order for these .MOGG files to be created, the original master tapes need to be recalled and played back from their original recording format. The individual tracks on the tape are then captured digitally and recorded simultaneously into a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). The tracks are saved in the .MOGG format.

So, I don't think you need any particular skill to create these except for access to the multi-track tapes lol.gif. These days as things are all digital it's probably much easier to get these files.

Something like Guitar Hero would use these files. Some people have been able to extract MOGG files from the game. A few years ago I actually downloaded some Live tracks that were part of Guitar Hero but I couldn't figure out how to extract or play them..

I am also wondering if these master tapes/recordings are sold publicly or if they are just distributed by the Record company by request? Yes it is easy to get ahold of them on the net, thats obvious, but i'm curious as to how these were physically acquired to begin with ya know.

Were they .mogg files? I'm pretty sure you can open them in audacity and the drum/vocal/guitar tracks will be separated for you.
