In the end I decided to have a go at authoring a definitive 'full show' version of this concert with the missing Run Away and Lightning Crashes footage slipped into place.

I cropped the black borders to make it 16:9 like the rest of the show, matched the audio volume and made the transitions as seamless as possible. While I was at it I moved the Ed interview to the end of the show and redid the menus to match the artwork I made.

I also removed the Jensen bonus as I'm planning on authoring another '2006 TV Appearances DVD' now that Dan has kindly shared his The Footy Show and American Idol footage (would be great to add Ed's appearance on The Max Sessions to this if anyone has this... wink.gif )

I'm pretty happy with the way this Köln full show DVD turned out, so if there is any interest I can upload this version to rapidshare (approx 3.5gig).

Here are some screenshots:

Ridley,

Always interested in the final version.
If you could upload it, this would be great.
would be great to add Ed's appearance on The Max Sessions to this if anyone has this... --> I will have a look but what resolution do you want / need (at the minimum) ?
Let me know.

That menu looks rather nice. A vast improvement on the original. Good work!

I downloaded the new version on the weekend. The new tracks are seemlessly integrated into the video. Nice menu and a top effort all round.

I'm not really technically proficient in these things, is there a way to convert from PAL to NTSC? I would love have some of these concerts to play on the big screen instead of the computer.

Yes there are ways to convert from PAL to NTSC, but it may not be necessary because if your equipment is relatively new then may be able to play PAL material.

Anyway, check out this thread for a program that makes conversion easy. Note: there will be a drop in picture quality when you convert.

Thanks Dan! I have a relatively new Blu Ray player, so I'll hopefully it plays on it. If not, I'll try to convert it. I appreciate it!

Cool. Let me know how things pan out!

You can also buy inexpensive multi-region/format DVD players for around $40 that play DVDs from all over the world.

Something else you might want to consider purchasing is a media player. Something like the WDTV or WDTV Live. Basically it's a small box that you connect up to your TV (either via HDMI/Composite/Component cables) and then you plug in a USB hard drive or Flash drive which stores all your movies (either in DVD format, XviD, DivX, MKV etc). The WDTV Live model also features an ethernet connection so you can connect it to you home network. More info can be found at: http://www.wdtv.com.au
