To most of us, BoP and SFBM were very.. lacking. If they get back together just to write more albums like that, why bother?

dont understand why people are so down on BoP...songs like she, lighthouse, like i do, rivertown were very very good songs and even the "pop" sounds had a nice feel to them; thought the best songs on BoP were on the same level as prior cd's

Whether it be when he wrote Overcome or why he chose that spot by the tree to shoot the photo for the cover of Alive, the strange thing is that Ed demonstrates a Sarah Palin-like propensity to make stuff up as he goes along for the apparent purpose of spinning an interesting story that might sell product. It goes to character.

That's an unfortunate choice of comparison since Palin is obviously an idiot and Ed is a relatively smart guy.
But almost all politicians and many other public figures do this. Including religious figures. Doesn't mean it's right, just that it's not rare.

It's all about character and the little tidbits and signs that maybe the person inside the shiny bald veneer is not the loving, compassionate, selfless person that matches the words that come out of his mouth.

No one is quite what they seem. No one. It's one of the things that makes me cynical.

There is nothing I would like more than for Ed to completely do a 180 degree turn, reunite with Chad, Chad and Pat with friendship and forgiveness, become someone I can admire again, and return to creating music like the old Live. I'm holding out hope.

I would like a reunion.
I also live in hope that Ed will become an atheist with a philosophical bent and give us something completely new.

Yeah, he just couldn't remember that they had performed that song live 3 years prior, and even demo'd it for TDTH.

How could someone forget that? While he didn't try to say he wrote it after 9/11, he was definitely trying to place it closer to the event (presumably for marketing purposes).

I feel like we are kinda splitting hairs here...if you take it word for word out of context, you could make the case that he is lying.

I never saw this interview, but I do remember the other one where he mentioned writing it before 9/11.

There were dramatic changes from the oldest version that we heard to the version that made the album...maybe this is what he was referring to...

I agree with this, I am enjoying TGF already now so much more than the later years of Live. If Live gets back together, they need to write together, end of story.
