New "Face Culture" interview with Ed, 5 video's Options

The interviewer was most likely a set up by camp TGF as a rouse to drive down sales for Ed's album with an attack on Ed's character. Interviewers normally wouldn't know all the in's and out's about these details, he even mentioned the black coffee thing by name, there's no way he would have known this if he wasn't a TGF mole, I think Ed really got set up here.
Am I doing this right?

You are frighteningly good at it. Though you need to add in a few "Ed IS +Live+" and "Ed is a God!" here and there.

I really pity Ed. I don't hate him, or resent him, I just feel sorry for him. It's like he got used to the incredible success and cash flow TC brought and did everything he could to keep that. When his finances really started to dwindle he put the screws to his long time friends and bandmates (who, admittedly, accepted many of the screws) and eventually pushed so much the band broke apart. Now he's left peddling a solo album that, even if a far greater portion of the profits go directly to him (both from the album and from touring) likely still won't do as well as a Live album. What does he possibly gain from any of this?

It's like he's dug himself into a deep hole and instead of stepping back, pausing, and thinking calmly about how to get himself out he's just thrashing blindly. After some spins on tunelab I was thinking of grabbing Drive and Soul Whispers off of iTunes but I just can't do it now. I can't, and won't, support this man. He needs to hit rock bottom, or at least seriously re-examine his life and the choices he's made.

i had the same problem with that site just type "face culture ed kowalczyk" into youtube you get the main chunk of the interview. and brace yourself

I'm still trying to figure out how it would have cost Ed 100 grand to lose studio time and to perform in Holland.

well who knows what he means by studio? such an ambiguous industry term.

I think that was another one of Ed's circular speak.

Lets say hypothetically, Ed was 100 percent innocent about that lead singer bonus situation, you say he should have gone into detail about it in the interview? If he was totally right, and showed it clearly, that would make the rest of the guys look bad in public. I don't think Ed was trying to do that.

So CC&P didn't know about the demand before it was made, but their management informed them of it after Ed made the demand, and before the festival. Sounds like communications had seriously broken down by then. If Ed called the guys and said "hey, I'd love to play this event, but I invested $100,000 in studio time that I will need to cancel. If I could get that expense covered so that I am not out of pocket, then I'd love to play this festival with you guys. Do you mind if I see if I can get made whole on that?" then maybe there wouldn't have been an issue. Of course, who knows if that was really the case at the time. But from the band's perspective, Ed's tumidity of requesting this "bonus", and the other guys hearing about it when their management told them that the demand was made, is the issue.

No...nobody is saying that Ed made the demand. Chad said he found out about the demand through their management, and that was all we know about the situation. Whether the orders came from Ed or elsewhere is unknown to us. Ed never mentioned the term "studio TIME", am I right?

I don't think it matters really, no way there was studio time worth that much.

I know producers can get paid 5-6 figures for an album after a record gets big but I don't know about studio costs otherwise.
