he doesn't care about the music. He doesn't care about the band. Who tarnished the band? Enough said.

If he had any real confidence in Ed then he shouldn't really care what Live is doing without him. If Ed truly was the driving force for Live then he's fully capable of doing that on his own, right Nick? What's the worry? If Ed is so great why does he need Live? Why do you care? Surely he can come up with something on par with Throwing Copper on his own. Ed certainly thinks so at least. laugh.gif

This is my opinion: We must add an banner with all current members. Ed is no longer a part of live. Of course: he deserves his own section on this forum, but no banner.

Ed is still one of my favourite artists. But i love LIVE more.

I see CCP running the LIVE name into the ground without Ed, and I'm afraid that it will hurt a possible proper reunion. That is why I am freaking out.

You should freak out, rather you should get the fuck out.

This is assuming Chris Shinn is the guy. If not, then I shall be editing these banners to include the proper folks.

Throwing Copper was a moment in time type of thing. LIVE, Ed, fake LIVE, or CCP are very likely never to reach that peak again.

The asset is the LIVE name. If CCP fail using the name LIVE, they will have no choice but to ask Ed back. LIVE 2.0 is their last gasp at making it without Ed after The Gracious Few tanked.

Wrong. The asset is the personnel behind the name. I play bass and I have friends who play drums and guitar. If we got up there trying to play Live songs would it be Live? No, we'd be a fucking karaoke band trying to be something we're not. CCP are Live, not the other way around.

Life is full of surprises and disappointments. You keep marching on, you keep doing what comes next whatever that may be. If LIVE 2.0 "fails" then it fails. Then again I don't think most of the people here, or the guys in the band for that matter, really care about your definition of failure.

EDIT - Allow me to rephrase. I don't think they care whether or not you think they failed.

Oh boy, wait til Pokey reads that. As he says, it's about the fucking music nimrod! Hate to break it to you but live is not Kiss. There really isn't any value in their name. In fact, the name is a terrible name in terms of recognition. Even at their peak people struggled with their name. They knew them as the band that did that Lightning Crashes song. Like Shep said, the asset is the personnel. Or to take it further, the music the personnel creates. It's the impression of the music that is the asset. Using your criteria, Ed is a huge failure. He's drawing roughly what TGF did, even less in some markets using the "assets" of Live.

90's alternative fans know the name LIVE. Their is a built in fan base around the name that Ed Kowalczyk or The Gracious Few do not possess.

When a lead singer goes solo, he rarely does as well as when he's with his original band. That said Ed charged a between 25-50 dollars per ticket for his tour and drew reasonably well in most markets(and made a killing overseas).

The Gracious Few dropped their ticket price to 10 dollars after they had a poor advance at the 20+ dollar range. After the switch they drew decent in some markets, but flopped in many others This despite the fact that they billed themselves as members of LIVE and Candlebox and had two established fan bases to draw from.

Since when are you an authority on what is good or what fails?? Have you ever achieved anything on your own w/o special favors or a 'in'.....probably not.

Guess what Live is coming back and TGF served as a stepping stone to proove it's about the music. Idiots like you that cannot accept reality. You are in fantasy land.....all the way. It's not about if the sell out 10000 seats or sell 8M records.......are you fucking retarded?

How many lies are you going to say here? You don't know the sales #'s but it's all you care t cite. Some of their publications stated they were from Live and CB, and Ed does this to the day. Each TGF show, they never referenced who they were from. Stop with the BS fuckface!!.

I love the fact you completely gloss over the fact that TGF made a lot of people very happy with making some great music and at some point they'll make some more great music. It's just THAT SIMPLE. That's all it is, that's all that matters. God damnit, give it a fucking rest would you?

You sound pathetic, like someone who supports a team that constantly comes middle of the table, yet talking about what makes a team "the best" and then insisting that it's your team. That's all you're doing, promoting Ed and saying he's better than CCP because of statistics, god the number of people who are wiping the floor with Ed with their statistics is laughable. Get it through your head, Live, Ed, TGF ... all 3 of them are small fish now days in the music world, arguing which one is "top" is absolutely pointless, top of what? Just enjoy the god damn music, and if you don't enjoy the music of some of the others, then don't listen to it and move on! How many times do we have to say it to you? It's just not that worth getting this worked up over and "freaking out" over this, you seriously just sound pathetic.

Just ban him from the board, or restrict him to the Ed section.
