QUOTE(Pokey @ Feb 25 2012, 10:45 am) *

It's not the opinion that is the problem. Opinion is "I don't like TGF" - that's cool. What opinion isn't is sitting around waiting to take pleasure at the failure of 3/4 of the original band because your boy isn't involved. He's all but admitted that this was what he is waiting to do somewhere in one of the arguments in the thread that hoodie made for him. Remove him from the picture and the majority of the talk of a new Live album will be about the music. Keep him here, and its just going to be sales and attendance. There is room for some of that of course, but it is well documented that its all he is interested in. I think it goes well beyond having a simple opinion.

Amen, his constant negativity is draining and tiresome. He lurks in TGF and Live forums just waiting to bash CC&P and anything they do or are connected with, as well as bashes poor KM and Sean, who have nothing to do w/ Live. Fine, he's in the Ed camp. Than stay out of the TGF and Live forums. Live does not include Ed anymore and he needs to move on. For those that go into Ed forums and push his buttons, that's not right either. But guess what, if he stayed the F out of where he didn't belong, I bet those people would do the same. He is just chomping at the bit to shit on the new Live material and his inclusion on these boards drag every thread down roads they weren't meant to be. Does THAT sound like a Live fan? We're still excited to see what the band has to offer, he's obviously not and is a Debbie Downer to every conversation. He's argumentative, and irritating like a fly as Pokey said above. He likes to push buttons. I'm one of the most peaceful people there is, and he even enraged me enough to tell him to F Off within the last few months. Which I have never done in a forum and never will again.

He has a captive and participating audience...it's not likely he is leaving.

Oh no I doubt he'll leave, he has an agenda, and he's gonna see it through, which is a shame. But he'll continue on with his passive aggressive shit "lol I'm not doing any harm!", sometimes people provoke him which isn't always fair, but in defense he does drive real fans nuts. He gets mentioned a lot I guess as an almost reminder that we know his game, how he thinks and what he's in it for. He doesn't get to coast through this without copping backlash.

It's apparently too difficult for a small minority of fans to accept that the same EK that gave us Lightning Crashes is the same one that gave us The River. The same EK that gave us Operation Spirit is the same one that now gives us Christian Pop Rock. The same EK that gave us Mirror Song is the same EK that asked for the lead singer bonus, and so on and so on. He has changed so much that he really doesn't resemble the same guy we were introduced to. Sure people grow up and become adults but he is drastically different. The guy is a walking contradiction in so many fashions yet when people point this out a few staunch supporters get all up in arms and start spewing BS about C,C,P and anything they are involved with. Like that is somehow the equivalent. No, they are still the same guys they have always been. Only now they have rid themselves of the negative force of EK that sought to quiet their voices. Just look at all they are doing now. I really think their best is still ahead for them. At least they will truly get to explore all of their potential and we will be rewarded with truly passionate projects like TGF. People like Nick will never get the chance to appreciate that because they are still stuck with some vision of Ed that was probably never fully relevant in the first place. Just look at what he has become now that he is fully enabled. Yeah, I'd say there is something to the Live / EK paradox.

I think maybe it doesn't work because many here like the back and forth with Nick.
Which is fine, but don't then go and ask for a banning when he strikes a nerve.

If they ignore nick they will be bored to fucking tears and have nowhere to put their own negativity

He's an attention seeker - doesn't matter if it's good or bad attention, as long as he gets it. Ed's an attention seeker too but he only like positive attention. He hates the negative stuff!

I just saw some idiotic things posted like:

-The Gracious Few are making more money on their upcoming non-headlining show, than Ed in the last 2 years after 200 shows.

-The Gracious Few are more successful than Ed, because their single did better in the US over a year ago. (While true, it was a very small rock format, and the band failed to capitalize on it by not touring during or after.)

-I disrupted a meet and greet for healing purposes.

I just had to comment on the stupidity of it all. It is one thing to spin something to make it good, but those comments were just ridiculous.

Are they? One thing that is stupid, is your ability to not acknowledge that you know jack shit. You're the biggest spin doctor here. Also an attention grabbing passive aggressive ahole.

Shall I continue?

Yep, its all money money money! Talk of music doesn't make you have to comment, talk of money and you're all over it like a rash.

Don't flatter yourself. The fact that you think you're right most of the time when you're coming up with ridiculous claims is what gets under people's skin. Deciding what you think is right and then passing it off as fact. You've been right about a couple of things but generally not. "No noticable drop offs", to you that's "right", to just about everyone else you're so far off the mark. KM not caring about TGF? The fact you tried to pass that off as fact when everyone, TGF and KM included were saying that isn't the case, is absolutely mind blowing. Those are just a couple of examples of you thinking you're right, but you're not. So keep on flattering yourself about what you "know", and keep on telling people who are deeply linked to certain situations like The Thrill or Sallyinpa how wrong they are. I mean jesus christ dude, KM and CT themselves came on this board and couldn't believe the shit you were spilling. Ah but sorry, you're right, we're all wrong, that's what's getting under our skin! Hell even this statement is another prime example of summing you up perfectly.

I was wrong for saying that there was no noticeable drop-offs. I was just impressed/excited at how the new band handled itself in one of its first shows together. LIVE with all four members is still the best, but Ed solo still puts on a good show.

As for Kevin Martin's commitment to The Gracious Few, actions speak louder than words.
